Texans signed FB Moran Norris. With only untested Derrell Smith and Jason Ford behind tight-end/fullback hybrid James Casey, the Texans will carry the veteran Norris as insurance through training camp. The 33-year-old won't be guaranteed a roster spot after losing his job to rookie Bruce Miller in San Francisco last year.

49ers FB Moran Norris is expected to miss Sunday's game after suffering a leg injury last week. Rookie Bruce Miller was seeing first-team snaps in training camp, so there should be much of a drop-off. A converted defensive end, Miller may actually be an improvement on Norris in the run-blocking department.

CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco believes 49ers FB Moran Norris is in danger of not making the team. Maiocco thinks seventh-round FB Bruce Miller has a roster spot sewn up. If that's indeed the case, then Norris can probably kiss his chances of making the club goodbye. A pure blocker entering his age-33 season, it's no guarantee Morris would latch on elsewhere if the 49errs cut him loose.
