Pouncey (hip) announced Friday that he us retiring from the NFL, Ramon Foster reports.
EDGE Analysis
Both Pouncey brothers will leave the league together after multiple successful years playing on the offensive line. The 31-year-old wasn't able to suit up in a single game during the 2020 season due to a hip injury and dealt with various other injuries in years past, but when healthy he served as one of the best centers in the game. While Pouncey spent most of his career with Miami, he quickly became one of the Chargers' key assets on the offensive line and his presence will be missed.

Pouncey underwent hip surgery and has begun rehab, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The four-time Pro Bowler will aim to get healthy for the 2021 season, according to coach Anthony Lynn. This is the final year of Pouncey's contract, so even if he makes a full recovery, it's not guaranteed that he'll return to the Chargers next year. Dan Feeney is expected to continue starting at center moving forward.

Pouncey (hip) was placed on injured reserve by the Chargers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
With a prior report indicating Pouncey is expected to miss the rest of the season due to forthcoming hip surgery, this move isn't surprising. The veteran will now enter the offseason as a free agent coming off a serious injury, certainly not ideal for his prospects. In Pouncey's stead, look for Dan Feeney to take over as the team's starting center.
