Updating a previous item, the Titans did not sign free agent DT Michael Montgomery on Tuesday. The team backed out at the last minute over concern with Montgomery's knees. The 28-year-old had knee problems during the 2006 and 2007 seasons, before spending most of last year out of football. He'll return to the open market.

Titans signed DE Michael Montgomery. The 2005 sixth-rounder has seen time with the Vikings and Packers over the past five years. He played just two games as an injury fill-in with Green Bay last season. Montgomery isn't a good bet to make the roster in Tennessee.
