Saints re-signed TE Michael Higgins and G Eric Olsen. Both Higgins and Olsen were exclusive rights free agents. Higgins appeared in two games in 2012 after being promoted from the practice squad in Week 13, catching one pass. Olsen played in all 16 games and started four at right guard. They're pure depth players.

Saints promoted TE Michael Higgins from the practice squad. An undrafted rookie free agent out of Nebraska-Omaha, Higgins will take the roster spot of David Thomas, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. He should be used on special teams and as an extra blocker.
