Jaguars second-year CB Mike Harris is expected to compete with Marcus Trufant for the nickel cornerback job.
It sounds like third-round rookie Dwayne Gratz and 28-year-old Alan Ball are expected to be the starters on the outside. If it's between Trufant and Harris, we'd expect the veteran Trufant to win out as he helps install coach Gus Bradley's defense. Harris, at 5-foot-10 and 188 pounds, doesn't quite fit the mold that Bradley likes for his corners, and he may even be on the roster bubble.

Jaguars signed sixth-round CB Mike Harris to a four-year contract.
A junior college transfer, Harris finished his Florida State career with 99 career tackles,15 passes defensed and five interceptions. The Jaguars envision Harris as an impact special teamer who could emerge as the nickel cornerback down the line.

The Jaguars are projecting sixth-round pick Mike Harris as a sub-package corner with special teams value.
Harris was primarily a slot corner at Florida State. "He played nickel, he played corner, played a little bit of safety," Jaguars director of player personnel Terry McDonough explained. "He's a solo tackler on punt cover and on kick cover. ... This part of the draft, you're looking for special teams players."
