Mike Goodson was indicted Thursday by a grand jury on weapons charges stemming from his May 17 arrest. Goodson was indicted on second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon after he was found with a .45-caliber handgun loaded with an illegal hollow-point bullet known as a "cop killer" because it can penetrate body armor. Goodson faces a maximum of ten years in prison if convicted. The next step is an arraignment. Goodson is on injured reserve after he tore his ACL last month.

Jets placed RB Mike Goodson on injured reserve with a torn left ACL, ending his season. It's the second time in three seasons Goodson will finish the year on injured reserve. Talented but fragile, Goodson totaled 80 yards on nine touches after returning from his four-game suspension. Goodson is signed through 2015, but has no remaining guaranteed money. He will have to prove he's healthy next summer to keep his roster spot. Talent has never been the issue for the former fourth-round pick.

Jets RB Mike Goodson will go for an MRI on his injured knee Monday. Per beat writer Manish Mehta, a person close to Goodson says "it doesn't look good." The MRI will confirm whether Goodson has a knee ligament tear. If he does, Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory will benefit with more touches.

Jets RB Mike Goodson rushed four times for 29 yards and caught a ten-yard pass in Week 6 against the Steelers. Goodson also suffered an injury of some sort, though it's unclear whether it was serious. Goodson operated as the Jets' primary change-of-pace back behind Bilal Powell, with Chris Ivory getting four carries off the bench. Goodson only has value as a talented stash in 12- and 14-team leagues.

Making his Jets debut, Mike Goodson played on just 11-of-46 snaps in Monday night's win at Atlanta. It felt like Goodson played more because he got three carries and two targets, lining up with Bilal Powell a few times. But the bottom line is he's part of a three-headed committee next to Powell and Chris Ivory. Goodson is going to need an injury to be a viable fantasy option.

Mike Goodson rushed for 32 yards on three carries in Week 5 against the Falcons. Goodson was making his season debut after serving a four-game suspension. He operated as the third-down back and caught one pass for nine yards. Goodson had a long 26-yard run on a carry out of the Wildcat formation. All three of Goodson, Bilal Powell, and Chris Ivory will form a committee moving forward.

The Jets have officially moved RB Mike Goodson to the active roster. Goodson was limited in Friday's practice with a minor hamstring injury and there's some concern over whether he's in football shape coming off his four-game suspension. However, the Jets have decided not to use their one-week roster exemption and will activate him for Monday night against the Falcons. If Chris Ivory (hamstring) is held out, Goodson will likely see limited snaps behind Bilal Powell. The Jets also released WR Ryan Spadola and LB Ricky Sapp, and signed WR Michael Campbell from the practice squad in corresponding moves.

Jets RB Mike Goodson experienced "hamstring tightness" during Friday's practice, and was restricted to an exercise bike. "I'm not overly concerned," coach Rex Ryan remarked after the workout. "I hope he plays." The Jets have yet to formally activate Goodson from the reserve/suspended list, something they'd likely do Saturday if they deem him ready to play against the Falcons. They do have a one-week exemption to use.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday that Mike Goodson isn't yet in football shape. Ryan isn't committing to letting Goodson dress Monday night at Atlanta, though the only way for Goodson to get back in "football shape" is for him to take hits and play football. ESPN NY's Rich Cimini suggests Goodson will be active against the Falcons, but likely in "a small role" that may include returning kicks. Eventually, he'll be a candidate for change-up carries and third-down work.
