Lions released RB Mike Bell. Bell was hampered by an illness and Aaron Brown has been showing well in camp. At age 28 without any special skills, Bell will likely need injuries to latch on elsewhere.

Over the last three seasons, Bell has played for three different teams and averaged just 3.43 yards per carry. He's no lock to make the team ahead of Aaron Brown or Maurice Morris.
