Dyer, an undrafted rookie, will be released by the Raiders on Saturday, but he'll likely be placed on the practice squad, ESPN's Bill Williamson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dyer is a 24-year-old former five-star recruit who transferred multiple times during college due to off-field issues, but he's best known for posting back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for Auburn in 2010 and 2011. Assuming he clears waivers, he'll almost certainly have a spot on the practice squad. The Raiders apparently prefer George Atkinson or Taiwan Jones over Dyer as the No. 3 running back.

Dyer should certainly benefit the most from the recent news regarding Trent Richardson.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson was cut by the Raiders on Monday according to Bill Williamson of ESPN.com. This would suggest that rookie running back Michael Dyer will likely earn the third and final spot at the position heading into Week 1. Dyer has been impressive since the beginning of camp, and he'll fit right in behind Latavius Murray and Roy Helu. Helu has dealt with some nagging injuries throughout camp which could lead to some early playing time for Dyer. It's unlikely that he'll hold much fantasy value unless Murray were to get injured, but it's certainly a step in the right direction for a guy who went undrafted back in April.
