Michael Crabtree (foot) is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Bengals. Crabtree sat out last week's loss to the Cowboys as pain in his troublesome left foot continues to linger. He appears on track to start this week, but we'd make him put something positive on tape before using him in fantasy. Crabtree's talents are sapped by his injuries and Alex Smith's limitations.

49ers declared WR Michael Crabtree (foot) inactive for Week 2 against Dallas. Crabtree was limited in practice throughout the week, and must not have liked what he felt in pre-game warmups. FS Dashon Goldson (knee) - the only other 49er listed on the weekly injury report - is also inactive. Rounding out the scratches are QB Scott Tolzien, OL Michael Person, OL Daniel Kilgore, NT Ian Williams and DL DeMarcus Dobbs.

CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco expects Michael Crabtree (foot) to be a game-time decision this week. Crabtree has been limited the past two days, and beat writers have yet to see him running at full speed. He conceded earlier in the week that he's going to have to play through pain if he plays. It's hard to trust any 49ers receiver this week even in an attractive matchup.

Michael Crabtree (foot) limited in Thursday's practice. Crabtree participated in warmups after being unable to do so on Wednesday, but still didn't go full speed. Even if he returns to full participation on Friday, he'll be a poor fantasy option on Sunday after taking the field for just 16 snaps in Week 1's win over the Seahawks.

Michael Crabtree (foot) did very little during 49ers practice Wednesday. Crabtree was suited up for the workout, but reporters observed him run just one pass route "at perhaps less than full speed." The odds continue to appear slim that Crabtree will be any kind of a fantasy factor this season.

Michael Crabtree anticipates his left foot injury affecting him all season. Crabtree's foot hasn't fully healed since his last surgery. He'll try to play through it, but "if the pain becomes unbearable, like it was on Sunday, he'll remove himself from the game." Crabtree played 16 snaps in Week 1, compared to Josh Morgan's 36 and Braylon Edwards' 33. Crabtree is barely worth a fantasy roster spot.

Michael Crabtree admitted that his twice-surgically-repaired left foot "hurt so bad" during Sunday's win over the Seahawks. Crabtree played just two snaps in the second half before being removed from the game. He subsequently went for an MRI that came back negative, but there's still major concern here. Crabtree hasn't been able to shake this left foot issue since he originally went under the knife for the first time in March 2009. It's yet another reason to avoid Crabtree as anything more than a bench stash in fantasy.

Michael Crabtree caught one pass for four yards in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Seahawks. Crabtree was in and out of the lineup in the first half, then didn't play in the final two quarters due to "soreness" in his right foot. It's not the same foot that has plagued Crabtree for most of his NFL career, but is still a concern. Initial X-rays came back negative. He's a WR5 afterthought in fantasy.

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed Friday that Michael Crabtree (foot) will be "available to play" in Week 1 against Seattle. His role is much less clear after missing all of training camp in a new offense. Braylon Edwards and Josh Morgan are expected to see most of the snaps out wide. Ted Ginn and Crabtree are vying for receiver snaps behind them.

Michael Crabtree blames the San Jose State astroturf for the foot injury that required surgery in July. The injury happened during player-organized workouts during the lockout. Crabtree called it a freak injury, "somewhat the same" as the stress fracture that required surgery before his rookie season. Crabtree is back to running full speed. The Niners "hope" he will play Sunday.
