Carter rushed seven times for 23 yards and caught all five of his targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Carter got 12 touches to Breece Hall's eight, but Hall had the more productive afternoon, leading the team with 50 rushing yards and adding a receiving touchdown. Both dynamic young running backs should continue to play substantial roles in New York's offense against the Bengals in Week 3.

Carter rushed 10 times for 60 yards and caught seven of nine targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 24-9 loss to the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Carter was the lead back in a Jets offense that went with a game plan heavy on runs and short passes, though it wasn't all good for the second-year pro, who had an egregious drop on a 4th-and-goal play in the fourth quarter. Rookie second-round pick Breece Hall got just 12 touches and lost a fumble, further solidifying Carter as New York's top option heading into the Jets' Week 2 trip to Cleveland. A change in offensive approach is also unlikely as long as Joe Flacco's filling in for the injured Zach Wilson (knee), so Carter should be locked into significant volume for at least the next couple games, though in a low-octane offense.

Carter will open the season on a Jets offense led by backup quarterback Joe Flacco against the Ravens on Sunday, Randy Lange of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Zach Wilson (knee) is expected to miss the first three weeks of the season, leaving Flacco as the Jets' top option under center. Carter's role won't be impacted significantly by the change under center, as he's still expected to form a platoon with rookie second-round pick Breece Hall. Wilson struggled with accuracy on checkdowns at times as a rookie, so having Flacco back there may actually help Carter's efficiency as a pass catcher out of the backfield.

Carter rushed four times for 10 yards and caught one of two targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 31-27 preseason win over the Giants. He also lost a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
Carter rotated with rookie second-round pick Breece Hall on the first-team offense. He only fumbled once as a rookie last season, so Carter's miscue in this one shouldn't raise too many red flags. Carter is set to open the regular season as part of a timeshare with Hall.

Carter and other key players for the Jets are expected to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Giants, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter started the preseason opener before sitting out the second game along with other key veterans. Rookie Breece Hall played both games, subbing in behind Carter in the first, but nobody will be surprised if the 36th overall pick in this year's draft ends up getting more touches once the games count. If Hall is as advertised and Carter builds on his strong rookie year, the Jets will soon have one of the top backfields in the league. Quarterback and O-line play are also big factors in RB fantasy production, though perhaps not as much for Carter if he's not getting many carries anyway and mostly plays on passing downs. It'll be interesting to see how the Jets split work between the two in the final preseason game Sunday.

Carter rushed three times for five yards and caught his only target for seven yards in Friday's 24-21 preseason win over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Carter was used sparingly, as was rookie second-round pick Breece Hall, who mustered 15 yards on five carries. The two young running backs are expected to operate in a timeshare led by Hall once the games start to count.

Carter (ankle) practiced Wednesday, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter took part in both team and individual drills after a minor injury limited his participation the day before. His fantasy value took a huge hit when the Jets drafted Breece Hall this spring, but Carter should still get weekly touches as the No. 2 back and is the favorite to handle obvious passing downs.

Carter is dealing with a minor ankle injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The second-year back was limited in Tuesday's practice, but not held out entirely, suggesting his ankle injury isn't too much of a concern. Carter likely will be stuck in a backup role after the Jets drafted Breece Hall in the second round, but there will still be snaps available for the UNC product, especially on passing downs.

Carter will be joined by rookie second-round pick Breece Hall in New York's backfield, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hall was the first running back selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, as the Jets traded up two spots in the second round to grab him 36th overall. The Iowa State product is capable of playing a three-down role, but there still should be plenty of touches left over for Carter working alongside Hall. Carter proved capable of excelling in a timeshare while in college, as he topped 1,000 rushing yards in each of his final two years at UNC, despite splitting carries with Javonte Williams.

Carter carried the ball nine times for 19 yards and failed to catch any of his three targets in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets' offense couldn't get much going on the ground or through the air in their season finale, and Zach Wilson ended up being the team's leading rusher with 24 yards. Carter showed flashes of upside in his first NFL campaign, finishing with 964 scrimmage yards through 14 games, and barring a significant offseason addition, he should be the primary option in the Jets' backfield in 2022.
