Minnesota has a deep secondary, but it's still a mild surprise he was released this early in training camp. White did miss part of training camp with an undisclosed injury.

White was released by the Panthers on Tuesday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
A former undrafted free agent, White started 17 games in two seasons, including seven games last year. The emergence of Josh Norman and Bene Benwikere led to White's demotion in the middle of last season, and he became expendable when the Panthers signed Charles Tillman (concussion) during the offseason.

White's development gives the Panthers options this offseason as they could let impending free agent CB Drayton Florence walk without signing a veteran replacement. White played 697 snaps for the Panthers in 2013.
