Ex-Cardinals QB Max Hall has signed with the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Part of the Cardinals' disastrous attempt to replace Kurt Warner in 2010, Hall spent 2012 as a student assistant at his alma mater BYU. His NFL days are over.

Former Cardinals QB Max Hall has accepted an assistant quarterbacks coach position at his alma mater, BYU. It's a student-assistant job. Hall, still just 26, signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and actually made three starts as a rookie, but proved brittle, error prone, and out of his league at the NFL level. He did have a skill set that would have suited arena ball, but apparently has decided to retire. Hall was a prolific passer at BYU from 2007-2009.

The Cardinals failed to tender exclusive rights free agent QB Max Hall, making him an unrestricted free agent. An undrafted free agent out of BYU, Hall failed to appear in a game for Arizona in 2011 after completing just half of his 68 attempts and putting up a 1:6 TD:INT ratio in 2010. He's unlikely to land a third-string quarterback job this summer, so the AFL or CFL could be his best option.

Cardinals QB Max Hall (shoulder, injured reserve) reportedly may need surgery on his subluxed left shoulder. Hall is expected to eventually be released with an injury settlement, though shoulder surgery might prevent him from latching on elsewhere anytime soon. Beat writer Mike Jurecki jokingly suggested "arena ball" for Hall, but it's actually a pretty good idea. The arena game would be a better fit for Hall's skill set.

Cardinals QB Max Hall is ineligible for the practice squad this season. Hall saw action in six games last season, which is too much playing time to be eligible for the practice squad. He's currently fourth on the depth chart behind Kevin Kolb, John Skelton, and Richard Bartel. The Cardinals won't keep four QBs, so he'll have to turn heads again in preseason action.
