Ingram rushed 14 times for 41 yards and secured one of two targets for minus-1 yard in the Texans' 31-21 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
While a Texans backfield that features three accomplished veteran backs rightfully gives fantasy managers jitters, Ingram has worked as the clear lead back over the first two games of the season. Whether that holds remains to be seen, but Ingram did outpace David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay by eight and nine carries, respectively, against Cleveland, albeit with not much production to show for it. It will be interesting to see if the workload among the trio is more evenly distributed with the quick four-day turnaround for a Week 3 interleague matchup against the Panthers.

Ingram had 26 carries for 85 yards and one touchdown and couldn't haul in his only target during Sunday's 37-21 win versus the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
There was some question regarding how a backfield populated by Ingram, Phillip Lindsay, David Johnson and Rex Burkhead would pan out, but the former easily handled most of the touches among the quartet (26 versus 15 combined for the last three). Ingram's efficiency was another matter, as he managed just 3.3 yards per rush. But Lindsay (3.1 YPC) and Johnson (3.3) didn't fare much better behind the Texans' offensive line. If Ingram receives such volume on a weekly basis, he'll be worthwhile to start in most formats for that fact alone. If another of the group got a hot hand, though, we could see Ingram yield reps to one of Lindsay or Johnson.

Ingram carried the ball 11 times for 44 yards in Saturday's preseason game against Tampa Bay. He also recorded one catch for three yards.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram entered the game on the team's second possession and logged six of his 11 carries. His performance was largely unremarkable, though he did manage a few chunk gains of 11, six and seven yards during the second quarter. Ingram figures to play a role in the team's running back picture in Week 1 against Jacksonville, though it's unclear how work will be divided between he, Phillip Lindsay and David Johnson.

Ingram carried the ball seven times for 24 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran running back got the start for Houston and finished up the team's opening drive by scoring from two yards out, giving the Texans their only offensive TD of the night. Ingram only saw action in the first quarter, but he still split snaps and touches with Phillip Lindsay and David Johnson. While the goal-line carry is promising, it came one play after Lindsay got a chance from the four-yard line. This is shaping up to be a true backfield committee during the regular season, which would put a very firm ceiling on Ingram's fantasy value.

Ingram's job appears secure, according to Aaron Reiss of The Athletic.
EDGE Analysis
The thinking is that Ingram would've played in the preseason opener if he were battling for a roster spot. Instead, he was a healthy scratch, while Phillip Lindsay got the start and David Johnson was limited to a third-down role. This could end up being a three-man committee, as the Texans don't have much financial incentive to trade/release Johnson even if the new coaching staff doesn't view him as a viable lead ballcarrier. The team's initial preseason depth chart lists both Ingram and Lindsay as starters, with Johnson a second-stringer.

Ingram did not play in Saturday's 26-7 win over the Packers in preseason Week 1.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram and fellow back Rex Burkhead were in uniform but did not play, while Phillip Lindsay and David Johnson participated in the game. It's hard to tell how the four backs will be deployed based on the first preseason game, but it was notable that Lindsay started and Johnson had just one carry.

The Texans' unofficial depth chart lists Ingram and Phillip Lindsay as co-starters, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, David Johnson and Rex Burkhead are listed as second-teamers. Each of the team's top four running backs have had success at the NFL level and things here appear to be trending in a committee/hot hand direction. While the pecking order that's listed on the team's unofficial depth chart could shuffle in the coming weeks, it's worth mentioning, as John McClain of the Houston Chronicle notes that Ingram and coach David Culley, who was the Ravens' receivers coach the past two years when Ingram was with Baltimore, have a strong working relationship.

Ingram is one of the Texans that could get cut, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's no hard intel here, but rather it's idle speculation based on the fact the Texans are deep at running back. The additions of Phillip Lindsay and the recently signed Rex Burkhead to the 53-man roster could conceivably crowd out Ingram. All three are currently behind David Johnson on the depth chart.

Ingram is signing with the Texans on a one-year contract worth up to $3 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Ravens released Ingram in January after he closed out the 2020 season buried behind J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards on the depth chart. A move to Houston should lead Ingram to some carries, but he'll likely enter camp behind David Johnson, who restructured his contract just last week. Johnson now has $4.25 million guaranteed out of a potential $6 million in 2021 compensation, so there's no question the Texans made more of a commitment to him than to Ingram. The ongoing Deshaun Watson situation makes it hard to get a read on the team context in Houston, but it's probably safe to say Ingram won't be a TD machine in his age-31/32 season.

Ingram has been waived by the Ravens, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram became an afterthought in team's rushing attack as the 2020 season progressed, with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards emerging as the team's lead backs. Per the report, with the move, the Ravens will save $5 million against their 2021 salary cap. The 2011 first-rounder will now look to catch on elsewhere after finishing up his second campaign with Baltimore with 72 carries for 299 yards and two TDs in 11 games, to go along with six catches for 50 yards.
