Ingram (ankle) is listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday against the Buccaneers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram logged limited practices throughout the week, but it appears he'll be able to suit up Sunday. The veteran running back will be in line for a hefty workload with Alvin Kamara (ribs) expected to be sidelined, per Schefter.

Ingram (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram was able to log limited sessions during Week 2 prep, which can't be said for the Saints' top running back Alvin Kamara, who didn't practice Thursday or Friday. Both Kamara and Ingram are questionable for Week 2, but the latter has a better shot to suit up Sunday given their respective activity levels this week. In the end, Ingram's availability and potential increased workload will be confirmed about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Ingram (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram's limited participation marks no change from Wednesday, but it's at least a promising sign for his chances of being available for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. However, the same can't be said for lead back Alvin Kamara (rib), who didn't take any practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. If Kamara is unable to shake off the rib injury in time for Sunday and is inactive for the contest, Ingram would be the next man up in the New Orleans backfield, provided he can move past his own health concern.

Ingram (ankle) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram and Alvin Kamara (ribs) are limited participants to start the week, following quiet outings for both in the Saints' season-opening win over Atlanta. Should one or both be absent/limited, Tony Jones is next up for backfield snaps, with Dwayne Washington (hamstring) also an option if he's able to return after missing Week 1.

Ingram recorded four rushes for 22 yards as well as a one-yard reception (one target) during Sunday's 27-26 win over the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram was the only other running back outside of Alvin Kamara (ribs) to carry the ball for the Saints on Sunday, though he saw less than half as many total touches as the No. 1 back (nine carries, four receptions). After coughing up a fumble on his lone reception early in the second half, the secondary rusher was stopped short of the goal line on a crucial two-point conversion attempt that would have tied the game, 26-26, midway through the fourth quarter. Nevertheless, Ingram could see increased usage moving forward after Kamara picked up an unspecified rib issue against Atlanta.

Ingram rushed nine times for 34 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 27-10 preseason win over the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Ingram capped each of the Saints' first two possessions with touchdowns of one and two yards, respectively. His skills near the goal line give Ingram some fantasy appeal, even if Alvin Kamara doesn't end up serving a suspension this season. Ingram has scored at least five touchdowns in eight of his 10 previous NFL seasons, and the Saints know they can trust the veteran when they need a tough yard or two to move the sticks or put six points on the board.

Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune indicates that it doesn't look like Ingram or Alvin Kamara are in line to see action in Friday's preseason game against the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Given that Dwayne Washington didn't practice Thursday, it appears as though Tony Jones, Devine Ozigbo and Abram Smith are in line to handle the team's backfield duties Friday.

Ingram didn't play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Texans and appears to have locked up the No. 2 RB job, Terrin Waack of The Advocate reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Saints didn't prioritize their backfield this offseason even with the emergence of Alvin Kamara's legal issues. Recent reports suggest Kamara may avoid a suspension this year, but Ingram nonetheless remains of fantasy interest as the clear No. 2 option in the Saints backfield. It's a role that comes with Week 1 touches, plus the possibility of big-time usage in the event Kamara eventually misses games due to either injury or suspension. Behind Ingram, the Saints have Dwayne Washington, Tony Jones, Devine Ozigbo and Abram Smith competing for roles, with Washington first through the rotation in the preseason opener. Each of the four had at least 25 total yards, and the Saints could go with one of the younger guys over Washington if they prioritize potential as a running back over special teams value.

Ingram has been getting some work with the first-team offense this summer, SI.com's John Hendrix reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old Ingram hopes to squeeze out another season as one of the league's oldest RBs, and he currently stands second on the depth chart behind a starter with legal issues. It does seem it could be a while before a potential suspension for Alvin Kamara comes into play, with a thrice-delayed hearing in his battery case now scheduled for October. There's even been talk Kamara won't be suspended until next season, but Ingram could still find his way to a starting role via injury without any suspension coming into play. The Saints' other depth options in the backfield are Tony Jones, Dwayne Washington, Devine Ozigbo, Malcolm Brown and UDFA Abram Smith. Apart from Brown and Smith, all have been lingering around the organization for multiple years without any fantasy impact, which contributed to Ingram reuniting with the Saints last year.

In the wake of the recent NFL Draft, Ingram continues to slot in as Alvin Kamara's top backup, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Terrell suggests that it seemed as though the Saints might add a running back in the draft, but instead the team opted to add depth on the front by signing Abram Smith as a UDFA. Also in the backup mix are Tony Jones and Dwayne Washington, but as things stand, Ingram appears to be next in line for carries in the event that Kamara misses time for any reason. It's still possible, however, that New Orleans brings in more competition and the 32-year-old Ingram will need to hold off challenges from the likes of Jones and Smith in the coming months in order to maintain his depth chart standing.
