Chargers OT Mario Henderson has gotten his weight down to 333 after reporting to the team in April weighing 390. Henderson admits he weighed 383 when he was released by the Raiders following last year's lockout. He spent the season out of football and didn't begin shaping up until the 2012 offseason conditioning program. With 28 career starts at age 27, Henderson will compete for San Diego's swing tackle job in camp.

Chargers signed OT Mario Henderson to a one-year contract. The 27-year-old Henderson made 28 starts across his first four NFL seasons with Oakland before sitting out all of 2011 due to conditioning problems. Henderson won't be assured of a roster spot in San Diego, but if he doesn't make it the reasoning won't be god-given talent. He'd ideally be a swing tackle behind starting LT Jared Gaither and RT Jeromey Clary.

The Union-Tribune San Diego reports the Chargers are prepared to "move in a different direction" if a deal isn't soon finalized with free agent OT Mario Henderson. Henderson posted on his Facebook page Wednesday that he'd be playing for the Chargers this season, but has yet to agree to terms. Drawing no other known interest, he's likely mulling a "take it or leave it" offer from the Bolts. He'd be foolish to "leave it" after sitting out for all of 2011 after having a one-year deal with the Raiders nullified because he was out of shape.

Free agent OT Mario Henderson posted on his Facebook page that he will be playing for the Chargers in 2012. The signing hasn't been reported or confirmed by the team. Henderson can play both tackle spots, and could be a useful swing tackle if he's in shape. He would have been in the NFL last season if he'd have kept up his conditioning.

The Chargers are in contract talks with free agent OT Mario Henderson. Henderson, 27, was out of football last year after reporting to Raiders camp out of shape following the lockout. He'd be worth a kick of the tires.

Free agent OT Mario Henderson lost a potential contract with the Raiders when he showed up out of shape. Henderson had agreed to a one-year, $1.7 million contract as a reserve tackle, but that was nullified for being overweight at his physical. He's not good enough to tell opportunity to go away when it knocks.

The Bills hosted free agent OT Mario Henderson on Monday. Henderson isn't a good player, and he was arrested in March on gun charges. The Bills may simply be "kicking tires" or "doing due diligence." This is one of the rare instances when the lineman available isn't an upgrade for Buffalo.

Fox Sports' Adam Caplan thinks free agent Mario Henderson will likely be the Raiders' starting right tackle if he's re-signed this summer. Henderson began 2010 as the Raiders' starting left tackle before giving way to rookie Jared Veldheer. Incumbent right tackle Langston Walker, also a free agent, is thought to be considering retirement.
