Murphy was forced out of Sunday's game against the Lions with an arm injury, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Murphy injured and both LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) inactive, Keith Ford is the last man standing among the Bills' running backs Sunday.

Murphy is listed as the projected starter in the Buffalo backfield Sunday against Detroit, as both LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) are inactive for the contest.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy saw a season-best 40 offensive snaps Week 14 against the Jets, but ended up with just five touches for 18 total yards from scrimmage. He'll get another chance against Detroit -- a run defense that has been boosted by the midseason acquisition of "Snacks" Harrison, but is one of 12 teams allowing 20 or more average fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in standard formats on the year. Backing up Murphy in the Buffalo backfield will be Keith Ford, with Isaiah McKenzie representing a wild card option to receive carries.

Murphy could serve as the Bills' top option out of the backfield Sunday against the Lions with both LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) listed as questionable and both at risk of missing the contest, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Citing a source, Schefter relays that McCoy isn't expected to play, while Ivory's fate won't be decided until he completes a pregame warmup. Meanwhile, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network -- also citing sources -- characterizes McCoy as more of a game-time decision, while Ivory isn't expected to play. Official word on the statuses of both hurting backs should come with the release of the Bills' inactive list at 11:30 a.m. EST, but Murphy would be next in line for work if both players are out and/or limited. In that scenario, Murphy could see enough touches to make for a decent speculative lineup option in deeper leagues or as a punt play in DFS tournaments, though the Bills' inclination to incorporate quarterback Josh Allen and speedy wideout Isaiah McKenzie in the run game would naturally lower Murphy's ceiling. Fellow back Keith Ford, who was promoted from the practice squad earlier this week, could also have a role on offense if McCoy and Ivory are unavailable.

Murphy rushed four times for 10 yards while catching his lone target for eight more in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy didn't do much with his opportunities after both LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) exited due to their respective injuries. In fact, wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie was more productive as a rusher than Murphy, turning four carries into 22 yards and a touchdown. Should McCoy and Ivory sit out in Week 15, Murphy would become Buffalo's primary rushing option against the Lions.

Murphy rushed 14 times for 69 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game during Sunday's 41-10 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy benefited from a perfect storm of opportunity, as Chris Ivory's shoulder injury cleared out the backup running back role, and game script called for plenty of rushing attempts with Buffalo sitting on a big lead. LeSean McCoy rushed 26 times, so Murphy was the clear-cut No. 2 despite his volume. He may not get another workload as large as this one the rest of the way after the Week 11 bye.

Murphy is one of only two active running backs for the Bills Sunday against the Jets, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bills are a bit short-handed at the position with Chris Ivory listed as inactive due to a shoulder issue, leaving Murphy as the only healthy back behind starter LeSean McCoy. Murphy did see a season-high 24 offensive snaps last week against Chicago, but carried the ball just once for six yards in the blowout loss. There's a slight amount of pass-catching upside with Murphy having recorded eight receptions in the last three weeks, but it likely isn't enough to warrant serious consideration outside of deeper formats. Murphy would seemingly need an injury or other significant event to happen to LeSean McCoy, or a blowout on either side, in order to gain fantasy relevance.

Murphy rushed one time for six yards and caught three passes for minus-7 yards during Sunday's loss to the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
As usual, no one could get anything going offensively for the hapless Bills, and trying to get things kickstarted -- following a series of lousy games -- against the formidable Bears defense (even without Khalil Mack) proved too tough a task. Murphy did see a season-high 24 snaps in the loss, playing time that could continue if Chris Ivory (shoulder) has to miss any action. Such a scenario would put Murphy into the No. 2 spot behind LeSean McCoy, who was held to 10 rushing yards on 10 carries Sunday.

Murphy logged four carries for 53 yards and added five catches (on six targets) for 17 yards in Sunday's 37-5 loss to the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy's profile in the Buffalo offense expanded Sunday after LeSean McCoy exited the game with a concussion. Once that occurred, Chris Ivory served as the team's lead back, with Murphy working in a change-of-pace role. After the game, it was reported that Ivory is dealing with an unspecified injury, which he downplayed. Considering that, as well as McCoy being in the NFL's concussion protocol, Murphy is a player to track as next Monday's game against the Patriots approaches.

Murphy is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Colts due to a knee injury.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy was called upon to take snaps at the running back position following an injury to LeSean McCoy (head), but suffered a knee injury after logging four attempts for 53 yards. Expect an update on Murphy's health if after Sunday's game if the starting kick returner is unable to return to the field.

Murphy is active for this week's game against the Colts, the Bills' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy isn't in line to see a lot of carries, but after being a healthy scratch the past two games could handle some of the return duties with Ray-Ray McCloud inactive.
