Retired OT Marcus McNeill's agent says his client is not contemplating a comeback.
"No, he's not," Alvin Keels said. McNeill caused a stir on Twitter in recent days. "Dont call it a comeback #staytune," McNeill tweeted. "Whenever a door closes. Look for the window. Making progress. Taking it one day at a time." McNeill also retweeted plenty of Chargers' fans asking for him to come back. The 29-year-old hung up the cleats last summer.

The Jets recently worked out free agent OT Marcus McNeill, according to ESPN New York.
No signing is imminent. It's not clear if "recently" means before or after McNeill announced his retirement two weeks ago. It's quite possible that the workout convinced McNeill he was done. ESPN's John Clayton hinted that the Jets could be interested in trading for Colts RT Winston Justice, though he seemed to be just thinking out loud on that one. We don't see the Colts weakening their offensive line for Andrew Luck's debut.

Free agent LT Marcus McNeill has decided to retire from football.
The 2006 second-rounder earned trips to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons as Philip Rivers' blindside protector. A starter in all 82 games over six seasons as the class of the AFC West, McNeill's career had stalled out the past few years due to back and neck injuries with roots dating to his college days at Auburn. McNeill turns 29 in November.

NFL teams are reportedly doing "increasingly more due diligence" on free agent LT Marcus McNeill's health.
McNeill is the top "name" player left on the market, but clubs are skeptical about his health -- particularly after the Eagles passed on McNeill in favor of Demetress Bell following Jason Peters' Achilles' tear. Per The Sports Xchange's Len Pasquarelli, Philadelphia officials "hinted broadly" that they weren't certain about McNeill's availability or capability of playing in 2012.

Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune San Diego confirms free agent OT Marcus McNeill is "very unlikely" to return to the Chargers.
The Chargers have moved on with Jared Gaither, and want former Raiders LT Mario Henderson as his backup. Their medical staff must not think much of McNeill's back condition. The rest of the league doesn't seem to, either.

The Eagles have "reached out" to free agent OT Marcus McNeill after losing Jason Peters to a torn Achilles' tendon.
McNeill and Demetrius Bell are easily the top two tackles on the free agent market, so the Eagles know where to look. Bell is scheduled to visit the team this weekend. McNeill could be next. McNeill's market has been painfully slow after he was released by the Chargers in mid-March over medical concerns.

Free agent LT Marcus McNeill has visits lined up with the Falcons and Chiefs.
McNeill visited the Lions on Friday, and has been cleared to play after a neck injury limited him to nine games last season. The Lions are reportedly still interested in re-signing Jeff Backus, so the Falcons and Chiefs could be more realistic options for McNeill.

Free agent LT Marcus McNeill will visit the Lions on Thursday.
It appears the Lions are exploring alternatives to in-house free agent LT Jeff Backus. Detroit will be McNeill's first-known visit since his Tuesday release.

The player rep for free agent LT Marcus McNeill insists his client is fully healthy despite McNeill's inability to pass the Chargers' exit physical.
McNeill has knee and back conditions, and the concern inside the Chargers' building was that they are chronic. "He has been cleared to play by neck and spine specialist Craig Brigham," insisted McNeill's agent, Alvin Keels. "He's 100 percent healthy." Interested teams, if there are any, will determine that on an individual basis when they bring McNeill in for physicals.

Chargers released LT Marcus McNeill.
McNeill had proven to be one of the league's more durable left tackles before signing a six-year, $48.9 million extension in October 2010, but has been plagued by injury ever since, appearing in just 20 of a possible 32 games the past two seasons. He underwent two knee surgeries last offseason before a neck ailment sent him to injured reserve in November. It made no sense for the Bolts to pay his $10.5 million 2012 salary after waivers acquisition Jared Gaither fared surprisingly well in McNeill's absence. Now a free agent, re-signing Gaither figures to be a priority for the Chargers.
