Giants released LB Marcus Dowtin. Dowtin appeared in three games for the Giants last season, recording two tackles. He's a candidate to get a look from the Browns as he has ties to new coach Mike Pettine.

Bills claimed LB Marcus Dowtin off waivers from the Eagles. Dowtin, 24, was waived by the Eagles on Thursday, along with three others. He played three games under new Bills DC Mike Pettine with the Jets in 2012.
