Mariani recorded a 15-yard carry Sunday against Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Mariani's only offensive touch of the season came in the season finale. The return specialist finishes with 560 kickoff return yards and 235 punt return yards without a touchdown. He made the Pro Bowl back in 2010, but may not be back with the Titans next year after this pedestrian campaign.

Mariani agreed to a contract Monday with the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
The Titans have plenty of familiarity with Mariani, who was a seventh-round pick of the franchise in 2010 and made the Pro Bowl during his rookie season as a return specialist. The Bears decided to cut Mariani after training camp and go with another direction in the return game, but the Titans evidently believe the 29-year-old still has some game-breaking ability. Tennessee released receiver Tre McBride to make roster room for Mariani, who in addition to taking over as the team's primary kickoff returner, figures to be deployed occasionally in four- or five-wideout sets.

Mariani has been released by the Bears, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mariani had plenty of opportunity to impress the coaching staff as a slot receiver with Eddie Royal (concussion) missing all four preseason games, but failed to do so. He'll try to find work elsewhere as a kick returner.

Mariani caught one of his two pass targets for eight yards Saturday against the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Mariani caught his only pass on the first play of the game, as he was manning the slot for Eddie Royal (concussion) who was inactive. He'll need Royal to miss regular season time to see enough targets to be useful for most fantasy teams.

Mariani caught one pass for three yards Thursday against the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
With Eddie Royal sitting out the contest with a concussion, Mariani saw time on the field as a slot receiver with the starting offense. He caught his only target on a short slant route and was immediately tackled. He'll need the Bears to suffer significant injuries at wide receiver to be in position to see many pass targets this season.

Mariani signed a one-year extension with the Bears on Saturday, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mariani played in all 16 games for the Bears last season, recording 22 receptions for 300 yards. He also had 29 punt returns for 192 yards as well as 16 kickoff returns for 418 yards. The specifics of the deal have yet to be announced.

Mariani ended the 2015 campaign with 22 catches for 300 yards and no touchdowns.
EDGE Analysis
It was far and away the best season as a receiver for Mariani, who had made his living exclusively as a kick returner prior during his career. However, a number of injuries to the Bears' wideout corps opened up extended opportunities for Mariani, and he developed a surprising rapport with quarterback Jay Cutler. He saved his best work for Week 17 against the Lions, catching six balls for 80 yards while making the start with all of Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson, and Eddie Royal sidelined by injury. Despite his accomplishments, there's no guarantee that Mariani will stick around with the Bears in 2016, especially after he routinely showed questionable ball security as a returner and rarely delivered explosive plays.

Mariani will serve as one of the Bears' starting wideouts in Sunday's game against the Lions, ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mariani has been a source of great consistency the last five weeks, finishing with between two and three catches and 31 and 37 receiving yards in each contest. However, those numbers haven't translated to fantasy appeal, so even if Mariani benefits from increased primacy in the passing game Sunday with all of Alshon Jeffery (hamstring), Eddie Royal (illness), and Zach Miller (toe) ruled out, his ceiling remains low.

Mariani caught two of three targets for a season-high 37 yards in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
Despite entering the game fourth on the Bears' depth chart at receiver, Mariani actually outpaced No. 2 wideout Eddie Royal (one catch for 15 yards) and No. 3 wideout Josh Bellamy (no catches) in production. Mariani has been a liability on the Bears' return unit this season, but he's been more productive offensively than at any point in his career. Still, with only 11 receptions and 157 receiving yards on the season, Mariani is hardly an appealing fantasy commodity.

Mariani caught both of his targets and gained 33 yards in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Despite entering this season exclusively as a special teams player, Mariani has worked his way up the receiver depth chart to the point where he's often included in three- or four-wideout sets. He's notched at least one reception in five of the last six games, which has helped him compensate to an extent for his lack of reliability as a kick returner.
