The South Florida Sun-Sentinel expects free agent RT Marc Colombo to be "forced into retirement" this year. Colombo appeared to be done two years ago when he was released by the Cowboys. Picked up as a starter in Miami, the 33-year-old graded out 69th out of 76 tackles in 2011, according to Pro Football Focus.

According to the Palm Beach Post, free agent RT Marc Colombo will "definitely" not be back with the Dolphins in 2012. Colombo, 33, did make some late-season improvements along with the rest of the Dolphins' roster, but still graded out as Pro Football Focus' 70th-rated tackle in the league amongst 76. We'd bet against Colombo starting another NFL game unless injuries force him to. He certainly won't draw much free agent interest.

The Dolphins offensive line has allowed just eight sacks after a league-high 27 in the first eight games. The run-blocking has improved significantly as well, accounting for eight rushing scores in the past six games. It's a turnaround on the level of the 2010 Bears, though Miami's may be driven more by the quarterback. Matt Moore deals with pressure far more facilely than Chad Henne ever did.

After visiting Dolphins camp this week, Yahoo's Jason Cole came away with the impression that RT Marc Colombo could be a "huge liability in pass protection." Cole points out that Colombo "has a hard time moving" after so many leg injuries going on age 33, and it's "not a pretty situation" on the right side of Miami's line. Vernon Carey has struggled at right guard, and rookie Mike Pouncey has gotten pushed around at center. Jake Long is a rock at left tackle, but defenses are going to prey on the middle and right side of this line.

Dolphins agreed to terms with RT Marc Colombo, formerly of the Cowboys. Colombo is declining going on age 33 and has missed eight games over the past two seasons. He's still close to Tony Sparano from their time together in Dallas, though, and profiles as Vernon Carey's backup at right tackle. Should Colombo find himself in the regular season lineup, pass protection will be a concern.

Cowboys RT Marc Colombo is expected to be released after failing to come to an agreement on a restructured contract Wednesday. Dallas kept the 32-year-old around for a couple of days while locking up Doug Free and Kyle Kosier. The latter will return at left guard with veteran Montrae Holland penciled in as Leonard Davis' replacement at right guard.

RT Marc Colombo could return to the Cowboys on a reduced contract after his is officially released Thursday. While Roy Williams, Leonard Davis and Marion Barber are all gone, Colombo could be back in Dallas. He met with Jerry Jones and both sides expressed interest in a reworked contract. But with Doug Free getting locked up to a monster deal late Tuesday, it's possible that ship has sailed.

The Cowboys will release RT Marc Colombo, a source tells ESPN Dallas. An expected move. Colombo was brutal last season, is owed a $500,000 roster bonus and the Cowboys drafted Tyron Smith in the first round. Colombo is declining at age 32, but will attract some interest from teams desperate at right tackle. Smith is now the clear Cowboys' starter on the right side.
