Released by the Redskins on Tuesday, free agent WR Malcolm Kelly indicated that he may consider retirement.
The former second-round pick just couldn't stay off the shelf in four training camps with the Skins. "As much as I love this thing, I'm not going to go out here and kill myself," Kelly said. "It's one thing to have one injury, man, but to have as many as I've had, it's to the point where it is what it is."

Redskins waived WR Malcolm Kelly with an injury settlement.
Kelly had been sidelined with a foot injury since the beginning of training camp. Besieged by knee and hamstring injuries since entering the league as 51st overall pick in the 2008 draft, Kelly managed just 28 catches for 365 yards and nary a touchdown in his three years in Washington. He won't attract much interest league wide.

Redskins WR Malcolm Kelly will undergo another round of MRI and X-rays on his slow-healing foot injury.
He's been out since August 4. The Redskins will probably wait for Kelly to get healthy, then place him on waivers. He isn't going to make the team.

Malcolm Kelly is going to be sidelined about a week due to a sore foot.
It's the latest malaise for Kelly, who never seems to be healthy or effective. The 2008 second-round pick has shown absolutely noting in three years and is now a poor bet to even make the final roster. The Redskins are better off with veterans like Donte Stallworth and Jabar Gaffney.
