Young (hamstring) reached an injury settlement with Arizona and was waived Thursday, per NFL Communications.
EDGE Analysis
Young was placed on injured reserve last week after clearing waivers. Now that he's been waived with a settlement, he's free to play in 2018, assuming he is claimed or signs with another team as a free agent and is able to make a roster. He'll be competing for a depth secondary and special teams role.

Young suffered an injury late in Thursday's practice session and moved around gingerly afterward, the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young will have a couple days to heal up before the Cardinals open their preseason against the Chargers on Saturday. After suffering an injury in the preseason last year and being eventually waived by the Redskins with an injury settlement, Young, who appeared in six games with the Panthers in 2016, will need to make an impression during training camp to hang on to a 53-man spot.

Young was cut by the Panthers on Tuesday, Max Henson of Panthers.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Panthers made round of cuts Tuesday and released a pair of contributors in the secondary with Young and Tre Boston both gone. Young primarily saw the field on special teams, but he could have been in line for a bigger role on defense in the upcoming year. The 6-foot-1 corner out of Georgia Tech could get scooped up by a team looking to add secondary depth during training camp.

EDGE Analysis
Tight end, Scott Simonson, was released to make room for Young's promotion. The 25-year-old should not be expected to do more than add secondary depth, and potentially help out on the special teams' unit.
