Free agent RB Laurence Maroney worked out for the Redskins this week. This is the first sniff we've heard of Maroney even getting a workout since the season started. The Redskins are obviously just updating their emergency list as their backfield is already crowded.

Free agent Laurence Maroney has not been invited to a tryout since the regular season began. Teams are trying out washed-up retreads (Clinton Portis) and undrafted rookie practice squad types (Chase Reynolds), but they're not calling Maroney. The 26-year-old Maroney was recently cleared in connection with a misdemeanor marijuana charge. Maroney was the 21st overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft.
