Moore announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday.

Moore hangs up his cleats just days after signing with the Falcons, but spent most of his career with the division rival Saints, for whom he scored 10 touchdowns in 2008 and won the Super Bowl with in 2009. In total, Moore spent eight of his ten NFL seasons in New Orleans after entering the league as an undrafted rookie from Toledo, and finishes his career with 389 catches for 4,816 receiving yards and 44 touchdowns.

EDGE Analysis

Moore joins a receiving corp in Atlanta led by Julio Jones, Mohammed Sanu, and Justin Hardy. It seems unlikely Moore, at 32, will uproot any of the designated starters, but he could add a veteran presence on the bottom of the depth chart. Last season with the Lions, he recorded 29 receptions for 337 yards and four touchdowns.

Moore is one of three veteran wideouts slated to work out for the Chargers on Tuesday, the San Diego Union Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

The team is also taking a look at James Jones and Brian Hartline and we'd wouldn't be surprised to see one of them added by the Chargers, in the wake of news that Stevie Johnson is dealing with a meniscus injury that will cost him some time. Moore, who turns 33 at the end of this month, could be a decent fit for the Chargers, given that he could fill a slot role for the team. The veteran caught 29 passes for 337 yards and four TDs in 14 games last year, his first and only season with the Lions.

Moore completed the 2015 season with 29 catches off of 43 targets for 337 yards and four touchdowns.

Moore ended 2015 ranked fifth on the team in most receiving categories, including catches, targets and yards. His seven receptions of at least 20 yards tied him with Golden Tate and Theo Riddick for second on the team. Moore had a nice little run from Weeks 5 through 10, during which he caught four touchdowns in five games. In his five games following, he managed just four catches total as the second-year receiver TJ Jones began making his presence felt. Moore was brought in this offseason due to his familiarity with former offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi's scheme. With Lombardi now out of town, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Moore join him as the Lions look toward the future at receiver.

EDGE Analysis

After missing two games due to an ankle injury, Moore practiced in full all week, blazing a trail for his return to the lineup. He's only been targeted more than three times in four of 11 outings this season, but in his first game at the Superdome since leaving New Orleans after the 2013 season, he'll aim to join the many wideouts that have reached the end zone against the Saints this season (21 times in all).

Moore, who missed the last two games due to an ankle injury, was able to fully practice all week, so there wasn't much concern over his availability for Monday's game. He's seen his number fall off the cliff since a five catch, 106 yard explosion in Week 6, but he could see an uptick in usage against a Saints secondary that has allowed 13.9 YPC and 21 touchdowns to wide receivers this season.
