It's a big injury for the Seahawks, as Wright is an impact run defender who's amassed 80 tackles and 1.5 sacks through 13 starts. Wright is capable of playing both strong-side and middle linebacker. Seattle will have to dive into its linebacker depth, which isn't great. Wright will miss "around" six weeks. Perhaps the Seahawks will keep him off I.R. in hopes of a Super Bowl return.

Now Wright has the job all to himself after Curry was traded to Oakland. "K.J. Wright has made this possible, yeah. He's played so well," said coach Pete Carroll.

Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley confirms that K.J. Wright is working as the first-team weak-side linebacker ahead of Aaron Curry this week. "K.J. Wright has played very well for us, especially in that first game," Bradley said. "And we just felt like we wanted to have more competition at that spot, so we're giving K.J. a chance there yesterday, and we looked him today. And we'll evaluate it the whole week."
