Bills re-signed LB Kirk Morrison. Morrison was waived by the Bills three weeks ago after failing to appear in a game all year. He's back as depth once again.

Bills waived LB Kirk Morrison. Inactive for every game this season in Buffalo, Morrison can play middle and strong-side linebacker and could be of some use as a versatile reserve for a playoff-contender down the stretch. He has $223,000 left on his 2012 salary.

After losing the strong-side job to Arthur Moats, the Bills are now crosstraining Kirk Morrison at middle linebacker. Morrison will be a versatile reserve, backing up Moats and Kelvin Sheppard while likely playing on special teams. He will be the Bills' fourth linebacker.

Kirk Morrison is expected to be the starting strong-side linebacker in Dave Wannstedt's 4-3 defense. Morrison had started 95-of-96 games over six years before playing just 55 of 1,001 defensive snaps in 2011. The 30-year-old averaged 100 tackles per season as the middle linebacker in Oakland, but he does have experience in all three 4-3 linebacker spots. Arthur Moats will continue to be a reserve and special teamer behind Morrison.

Bills re-signed LB Kirk Morrison to a two-year contract. The Bills are finally succeeding in keeping their own, locking up their fourth impending free agent in five days. Morrison played 14 games as a reserve last season, but he's viewed as the favorite over Arthur Moats to start at strong-side linebacker in Dave Wannstedt's 4-3 defense. The 30-year-old has started 95 of 110 career games.

Coach Chan Gailey indicated the Bills have been negotiating with free agents LB Kirk Morrison and LT Demetrius Bell about returning to Buffalo. Morrison would be the favorite over Arthur Moats to start on the strong side in Dave Wannstedt's 4-3 defense. Bell hasn't been able to stay healthy in four years with the Bills, but he finally turned his athletic gifts into solid production in seven games last season.

Bills defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt has expressed a desire to re-sign free agent LB Kirk Morrison. Morrison barely played after signing with the Bills just before the 2011 season opener, but the 30-year-old has experience at both middle and strong-side linebacker in a 4-3 defense. Buffalo, of course, is transitioning more toward a full-blown 4-3 this offseason. He could back up Kelvin Sheppard and potentially compete for the starting spot on the strong side.

Bills ILB Kirk Morrison (hamstring) is out for Week 3 against New England. Morrison was active in Week 2 but failed to record a tackle. The veteran is a backup to Nick Barnett and Andra Davis on the inside, and the Bills won't miss his presence on the field.

Bills signed ILB Kirk Morrison, formerly of the Jaguars. The 29-year-old Morrison has registered at least 88 tackles in all six of his seasons, and never missed a game. Pro Football Focus graded Morrison as an impact run defender last season, although he's long been under-appreciated by the NFL. The Bills are stacked at inside linebacker, so it's unclear where Morrison will fit in. We'd expect him to begin his Buffalo career as a backup.

The Jaguars have removed the locker-room nameplates for all of their impending free agents except MLB Kirk Morrison and P Adam Podlesh. The Jags clearly want both players back. Podlesh wasn't "tendered" as a restricted free agent before the lockout, but the sides are still interested in a long-term agreement. Jacksonville will likely re-sign Morrison to remain the starter at middle linebacker. They need an upgrade on the weak side.
