Greene was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Greene's last regular-season action came in 2014 with the Bears, when he played in 10 games and posted 16 tackles. Despite a few short stints with both the Buccaneers and Bears, Greene has since fallen out of the league and the fact that he's being waived this early in the offseason doesn't bode well for his chances of making a final roster elsewhere.

The Bucs have claimed Greene off waivers from the Bears, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Thanks to last year's 2-14 record, the Bucs get the first shot to claim waived players, with the team snagging both Greene and safety D.J. Swearinger on Tuesday. With Tampa Bay, Greene, who was taken by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2013 draft, is in line to compete for a backup role at weakside and middle linebacker.

Greene was waived by the Bears on Monday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Greene managed just 45 tackles over his first two NFL seasons and faced stiff competition to make the Bears' roster at inside linebacker this season. Upon being waived, Greene will now aim to sign elsewhere ahead of training camp this offseason.

Greene was a healthy inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers.
The returns of Lance Briggs (ribs) and Jon Bostic (back) to action in Week 10 kept Greene out of uniform for the first time in six games. Unless a rash of injuries hit the linebacking corps before the season ends, Greene figures to see mostly special teams snaps if he's active in future contests.

Greene is starting in place of the injured Lance Briggs on Sunday against the Dolphins, according to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune.
Greene racked up eight tackles in Week 6 against the Falcons in place of Briggs, and he'll now focus on stopping a Dolphins' running game that will be centered around Lamar Miller.

Greene registered a team-leading eight tackles in Sunday's win over the Falcons.
The second-year player proved to be a more than capable fill-in for injured starter Lance Briggs (ribs), showing ranginess against the run and acquitting himself well in pass coverage. It's uncertain when Briggs might be ready to return to action, but when he does, Greene might have put himself in position to steal some more snaps.

Bears second-year OLB Khaseem Greene is entering training camp on the roster bubble.
ESPN Chicago left Greene off its initial 53-man roster projection heading into camp. Greene, the 117th pick in last year's draft, played 236 defensive snaps as a rookie, but was overmatched both in coverage and against the run. Some believe the "game looked too big" for him. He'll have to beat out talented UDFA Christian Jones and/or special teams ace Jordan Senn for a roster spot.

ESPN Chicago believes "the game looked too big" for Bears LB Khaseem Greene during his rookie season.
Greene saw action at weak-side linebacker with Lance Briggs on the shelf, making four starts. He was exposed badly in both run and pass defense. The Bears aren't throwing in the towel on their 2013 fourth-round pick, but Greene won't be counted on to start in 2014. He'll return as a reserve and special teamer.

The Bears will turn to fourth-round pick Khaseem Greene to replace WLB Lance Briggs.
It's unclear whether Greene will involved in sub-packages or just a two-down weak-side 'backer. The Bears are now starting two rookies at linebacker, including MLB Jon Bostic. Briggs is expected to miss at least five games.

Fourth-round pick Khaseem Greene is practicing behind Lance Briggs at weak-side linebacker in Bears camp.
He's Briggs' possible heir apparent. Greene will likely spend his rookie year playing special teams and learning, but possesses athleticism on par with an NFL starter. Briggs is owed $5.25 million in 2014. He turns 33 this November.
