EDGE Analysis
Smith, who dealt with a hamstring issue in advance of the 2016 season, eventually wound up on the Seahawks' practice squad before being released by the team on Dec. 6. The 6-0, 218-pounder, who played his college ball at Washington, turned 25 on Dec. 21.

Smith (hamstring) will revert to the Seahawks' injured reserve, Stephen Cohen of SeattlePi.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'd been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury throughout training camp. Now done for the year, the three receptions for 43 yards he amassed in 2015 could very well be Smith's only offensive production as a Seahawk.

Smith was promoted from the practice squad on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Seahawks were only carrying four wide receivers, and with Paul Richardson (hamstring) ailing, Smith was brought in to provide depth. However, this is not an offense that lends itself to much wide receiver production, especially down the depth chart.

Smith, who continues to impress in training camp, got closer to making the roster Monday when Kevin Norwood was traded to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has worked his way to up first-team reps in practice and plays on all four special teams. The latter part could give him an edge over the B.J. Daniels and Kasen Williams. His chances likely come down to how many wideouts the Seahawks keep. If it's only six, Daniels could edge him out because he can also serve as the emergency quarterback.
