Boothe was released by the Raiders on Tuesday, ESPN.com's Bill Williamson reports.
After starting 32 games for the Raiders over the previous two seasons, Boothe was limited to a reserve role in 2014, appearing in just nine contests. The Raiders deemed the 31-year-old expendable and will look to some of their younger, cheaper lineman to replace him.

Raiders signed OL Kevin Boothe, formerly of the Giants, to a two-year contract.
Boothe can play every position on the offensive line save left tackle, though he's best suited for the interior. The soon-to-be 31-year-old was drafted by the Raiders in the sixth round of the 2006 draft and played one season for the Silver and Black before going to New York. Ideally, he'd be a versatile reserve.

Free agent G/C Kevin Boothe will visit the Raiders Monday.
The swap meet between the Giants and Raiders continues. GM Jerry Reese may want Boothe back as a short-term bridge at center, but Reggie McKenzie can blow him out of the water financially. Of course, getting into a bidding war here would be silly as Boothe was a liability in both the pass and run games while playing center for the final six games of last year.

The Giants reportedly view free agent Kevin Boothe as a potential short-term answer at center.
The Giants made David Baas a cap casualty on Monday, opening a hole at the pivot. Boothe kicked over from left guard and manned that spot for the final six games of last season, struggling badly in both run and pass blocking. Jerry Reese needs to land a quality guard like Geoff Schwartz if they're going to go with a liability like Boothe in the middle.

Giants re-signed LG Kevin Boothe to a one-year contract.
Along with LT Will Beatty, Boothe is the second in-house lineman the Giants have re-signed this offseason. The G-Men could return their entire offensive line for 2013 depending on what they do with RT David Diehl. Boothe underwhelmed as a pass blocker last season, but was sturdy in the run game and wasn't penalized. Boothe will turn 30 in July.

The Giants still want to re-sign LG Kevin Boothe.
The cap-strapped Giants are going to have to get creative in order to fit Boothe. They've already approached OT David Diehl about a restructure, but no deal has been struck there yet. Boothe started 16 games for the Giants last year, excelling as a run blocker.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports free agent LG Kevin Boothe has been talking with the Giants, Panthers, Jets, and Cardinals.
The Giants' reportedly consider Boothe a priority, but they haven't made any moves to try and lock him up. At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, he can also play tackle, which makes sense for the Panthers. Carolina could use an upgrade on RT Byron Bell. The Cardinals need help all over the line, and the Jets could use another guard after signing Willie Colon on Friday.

One of the Giants' biggest priorities in free agency is reportedly to re-sign free agent LG Kevin Boothe.
Retaining restricted free agent Victor Cruz is a must. But bringing back Boothe, a 16-game starter who graded out above-average as a run blocker last year is crucial too. The Giants don't have a logical in-house replacement.

USA Today reports the Bears are "lurking" with free agent OG Kevin Boothe.
Chicago has been mentioned as a possible destination for top free agent OG Andy Levitre, but his price tag is rising as teams battle over he and Louis Vasquez. It's more likely the Bears settle for one of the second-tier guards like Boothe, Brandon Moore, or Donald Thomas. They don't have a ton of cap room at the moment.

Free agent LG Kevin Boothe would like to re-sign with the Giants, but a deal "does not appear imminent."
"We're having positive conversations," said Boothe's agent. "One day at a time." After re-signing LT Will Beatty a couple weeks ago, the Giants turned their attention to Boothe. It's looking like he'll reach the open market.
