Cowboys ILB Kenwin Cummings underwent minor surgery on his right thumb Wednesday. The routine procedure removed pressure from a severe bruise, and Cummings won't miss much practice time, if any. A former Jets practice squad player, Cummings leads Dallas with nine tackles through two preseason games. He also has the ability to play special teams and should make the final 53 as a No. 3 inside backer.
