Pickett is slated to sign a one-year contract with the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Journeyman QB Andy Dalton remains under contract with the Panthers, but considering his guaranteed money ($2 million) is half that of Pickett's, the latter seems poised to be Bryce Young's backup in 2026 while Dalton could see himself cut for minimal cap savings. Since moving on from Pittsburgh after the 2023 season, Pickett has made 11 appearances (three starts) the last two campaigns between the Eagles and Raiders, completing 53 of 87 passes (60.9 percent) for 479 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions, rushing 14 times for 37 yards and one more score and fumbling twice (one lost).

Pickett completed one of four passes for three yards, no touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 14-12 win over the Chiefs. He added one rush for nine yards.
EDGE Analysis
The Raiders planned to rotate Pickett and Aidan O'Connell at quarterback in the season finale. While Pickett drew the start, he played only the first quarter after being picked off and otherwise struggling to move the offense. After having the fifth-year option on his rookie contract declined, Pickett will be a free agent this offseason and will likely be set to compete for a backup role.

Pickett and Aidan O'Connell will be the Raiders' available quarterbacks Sunday against the Chiefs with Geno Smith (ankle) ruled out for the contest, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Pete Carroll told Edwards on Wednesday that Pickett likely would start Week 18 while working in a rotation with O'Connell, but Carroll wouldn't commit to a starter as of Friday, instead saying the duo will work in a rotation. Pickett has received run in five games (one start) this season, completing 27 of 41 passes for 185 yards, one touchdown and one interception, turning four carries into 13 yards and losing his only fumble. Meanwhile, O'Connell last played Week 18 of the 2024 campaign.

Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Pickett is expected to start Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
However, Carroll suggested that Pickett and Aidan O'Connell could split reps in the regular-season finale, as Geno Smith (ankle) isn't in line to play. The 27-year-old Pickett has appeared in five games this season and has put nothing good on tape, averaging a pitiful 4.5 yards per attempt with one touchdown and one interception across 41 pass attempts.

Pickett completed both of his passes for 16 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Geno Smith exited the game with an ankle injury early in the fourth quarter, with Pickett relieving him for the Raiders' final possession. Pickett completed short passes of 11 and five yards, though the drive resulted in a turnover on downs. Following the game, head coach Pete Carroll said Smith suffered a high-ankle sprain, setting Pickett up for a Week 18 start against the Chiefs, per Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com.

Pickett completed 15 of 25 passes for 64 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in the Raiders' 31-0 loss to the Eagles on Sunday. He also rushed twice for seven yards.
EDGE Analysis
Pickett averaged a microscopic 2.6 yards per attempt, a figure that naturally didn't come close to helping the Raiders keep pace with Jalen Hurts and his teammates. Pickett also took four sacks and showed a fair share of rust in his first start of the season. Pickett could get a second consecutive starting nod in a difficult Week 16 road matchup against the Texans next Sunday if Geno Smith (shoulder) remains sidelined.

Coach Pete Carroll announced Friday that Pickett will start Sunday's game against the Eagles, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Carroll, Geno Smith, who suffered right shoulder and hand injuries this past Sunday and didn't practice this week, "won't make it back" to face Philadelphia. "He tried," Carroll added, but the veteran QB "couldn't get it done in this amount of time." While the report adds that Smith has a good chance to be available for Week 16 action, Pickett will get the nod this weekend, making him an option for those in QB-friendly fantasy formats or otherwise are in need of shorter-term signal-caller help. Pickett's last regular-season start occurred Week 17 last season, when he was a member of the Eagles, Ryan McFadden of ESPN reports.

Pickett likely will replace Geno Smith (shoulder) as the starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith isn't practicing Wednesday and reportedly isn't expected to be ready by Sunday. The Raiders might've gone in this direction at some point in December even without the impetus of an injury given the consistently poor performance of their offense this season.

Pickett completed eight of 11 passes for 97 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Broncos. He added one rush for six yards.
EDGE Analysis
Pickett played the entire fourth quarter in relief of Geno Smith, who exited with a hand injury. He led two garbage-time drives with the Raiders down three and two scores, respectively, showing good rapport with Jack Bech while also hitting Shedrick Jackson for a 25-yard score. This was Pickett's third appearance of the season, by far his most prolonged, and he could be in line to start in Week 15 against the Eagles pending the severity of Smith's injury.

Pickett entered the Raiders' 10-7 loss to the Broncos on Thursday night for Geno Smith (quadriceps) with 14:38 remaining in the fourth quarter and failed to complete his only pass attempt.
EDGE Analysis
Smith was injured on a short scramble on the first play of the fourth quarter, necessitating Pickett's entry into the game. However, the 2022 first-round pick of the Steelers only made a brief cameo, handing off to Ashton Jeanty on his first play before tossing an incomplete pass intended for Jack Bech. Smith was able to reenter the game on the next possession and finish out the game, and the veteran signal-caller will now have extra time to get fully healthy before a Week 11 home matchup against the Cowboys on Monday night, Nov. 17.
