Kendall Wright (shoulder) is not participating in this week's minicamp as a precaution.
Wright landed hard on his right shoulder last Thursday, but it's nothing serious. He's been diagnosed with a strain and will be a full go for training camp. Wright projects as a high-upside handcuff to Kenny Britt (torn ACL) and will also see plenty of snaps in the slot even if Britt sustains health.

Titans rookie WR Kendall Wright's X-rays showed no structural damage to his shoulder, as expected.
Wright has been diagnosed for with a right shoulder strain, but neither he nor the team is showing concern. "It scared me a little," Wright said. "I'm glad it's nothing serious. I'm good. If they want to hold me back [from next week's minicamp] to be safe, that's fine." The impressive first-rounder should be back to 100 percent by training camp.

Titan Insider's Terry McCormick confirms rookie WR Kendall Wright's shoulder injury is "not anything serious."
Wright was scheduled for a post-practice MRI as a precaution, but the Titans were confident all along that he was just experiencing minor soreness. Even if Wright sits out next week's minicamp, he's expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Titans rookie WR Kendall Wright is expected to miss next week's minicamp after falling on his shoulder in Thursday's practice.
Coach Mike Munchak doesn't believe the injury is serious, and the Titans "assume he will be fine." It sounds like Wright is just dealing with a little post-practice soreness. Munchack also emphasized that the first-rounder has been "awesome" in OTA, and the team is pleased with his progress to date.

After initially working in Kenny Britt's X position, rookie Kendall Wright is now learning the Z and F spots in the Titans offense.
Wright has the skill-set to excel at flanker and split end as well as the slot. Coordinator Chris Palmer confirmed that Wright has picked up the offense well, and he plans to move all of his receivers around in different packages. As long as Britt (ACL surgery) returns by Week 1, Wright should see the majority of his rookie-season snaps in the slot.

According to the Nashville Tennessean's Jim Wyatt, no player has stuck out more than Kendall Wright during Titans offseason practices.
Wyatt concedes he's only been to two media-access practices, but says "both times" Kendall Wright "really made an impression." "He catches the ball well, he gets behind defenders, has really good speed," Wyatt observed. Wyatt says Matt Hasselbeck, usually "reserved" about heaping praise on young players, has "raved" about the Titans' first-round pick. It's early, but still a good sign.

Matt Hasselbeck says first-round pick Kendall Wright has been "as advertised" in Titans OTAs.
"He's explosive. He's a great kid, he's a competitor," Hasselbeck said. "He's not a big guy, but he's been fun to have around. (He's) had great practices so far." Standing in for a rehabbing Kenny Britt at the "X" receiver spot during OTAs, Wright has been generating positive reviews all around. Even if Britt is ready for Week 1, OC Chris Palmer has pledged to get Wright on the field. Wright will be worth a late-round pick in fantasy drafts.

The Titans are unsure if first-round WR Kendall Wright will be used in the return game as a rookie.
"It all depends on how the receiver thing shakes out and how much he is playing (in the offense) and what happens with Marc [Mariani] and all that stuff," said special teams coach Alan Lowry. "I don't think we'll know until we go all the way through training camp." Wright returned just seven punts and two kickoffs in four seasons at Baylor.

Titans rookie Kendall Wright is lining up in Kenny Britt's "X" position during OTAs.
Wright will learn Britt's position first, likely as a fallback option. If Britt's twice surgically-repaired knee acts up in training camp, Wright would be the likely starter opposite Nate Washington. If Britt is healthy, OC Chris Palmer plans to move him around to take advantage of matchups. Palmer continues to talk up a wide-open offense, suggesting the old "run and shoot" four-wide principles remain alive. "You have to throw the ball to score," emphasized Palmer. If all three of Wright, Britt, and Washington are healthy, Palmer pledges to get them on the field together.

Browns president Mike Holmgren acknowledged Tuesday that Baylor WR Kendall Wright was the team's top target at No. 22 overall.
The receiver-needy Browns were reportedly "bummed" that the Titans grabbed Wright two picks earlier. It's quite possible that Cleveland would have traded into the back end of the first round to draft Brandon Weeden even if Wright had made it to the 22nd pick.
