Updating a previous item, Kellen Winslow was forced from Saturday's preseason game with an ankle injury. The injury is not believed to be serious. That's good news, but the even better news is that Winslow has not injured his knee. Aside from maybe costing Winslow a practice or two, this shouldn't be an issue going forward.

Kellen Winslow was forced from Saturday's preseason game with an undisclosed injury. He went to the locker room in the second quarter. Bad news for a player who was making his preseason debut this evening. Winslow was targeted four times before going down, hauling in two catches for 18 yards.

Kellen Winslow will make his 2011 preseason debut this week. Winslow hasn't been injured. The Bucs just wanted to rest him the first two games while getting a look at younger tight ends. "He's been working hard and feeling good," coach Raheem Morris said. "He's got a lot of engery; a lot of bounce in his step. ... He had a great camp."

Kellen Winslow is reportedly enjoying one of the better training camp of his career. All reports on Winslow have been overwhelming positive since he skipped his annual knee surgery this offseason. It's not a coincidence that he looks "superb" in this year's camp. A revived Winslow is a nice bounce-back candidate in fantasy leagues.

Kellen Winslow "appeared revived" at a recent workout with Josh Freeman. Winslow did not have surgery this offseason for the first time in recent memory and it's apparently showing. It's worth noting that despite all the injuries, he's played in 16 games in four of the past five years. Still, Winslow's role in the offense isn't going to expand. Our 2011 Draft Guide ranks him No. 11 among fantasy tight ends right now.

Kellen Winslow passed up a seventh surgery to clean out scar tissue and loose bodies in his knee this offseason. The surgery would have been of the elective variety, so it's not a major concern. "Surgery is not going to help me anymore," Winslow said. "It's just maintenance from now on and keeping my knee strong. That's the reason for no surgery this past year. It just doesn't matter anymore." Onlookers have noticed a fresher Winslow in spring practices this year.
