Patriots released FB Kareem Huggins. Huggins lasted only one day. Formerly a tailback with the Buccaneers, Huggins had been out of the league after suffering a devastating ACL injury in 2010. He's eying a return to the league as a fullback.

Patriots signed FB Kareem Huggins and S Derrick Martin. The pair of vets will take the roster spots of FB Tony Fiammetta and OG Robert Gallery. Out of the game last season following a catastrophic 2010 knee injury, Huggins will present a long-shot challenge to FB Spencer Larsen's roster spot. Primarily a special teamer, Martin made 12 tackles in 14 games for the Giants last season.
