Johnson finished the 2025 regular season having brought in four of seven targets for 64 yards and a touchdown while recording 685 kickoff-return yards and 291 punt-return yards over 17 games.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson saw exponentially more opportunity than in his rookie 2024 season, when he'd appeared in only five games and recorded 22 all-purpose yards (11 rushing, 11 punt return). The Barton product was able to stick on the final 53-man coming out of camp and benefitted from injuries to multiple receivers to record his first regular-season receiving statistics as a professional, all in Week 6 against the 49ers. However, Johnson saw only one snap from scrimmage over the final four games of the season as the wide-receiver corps regained full health, but he was able to maintain a fairly consistent role as a returner. Johnson is no guarantee to be on the roster in 2026, but his pathway to sticking will likely once again come via his special-teams contributions.

Johnson returned two punts for 27 yards and three kickoffs for 75 yards Sunday in the Buccaneers' 20-17 loss to the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson continues to suit up for Tampa Bay on game days as a depth receiver, but he's been used almost exclusively on special teams the past three games while the Buccaneers have gotten healthier at wideout with the recent returns of Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan from injured reserve. He's played just one snap on offense over the past three weeks and owns a 4-64-1 receiving line on seven targets to go with 13 yards on two carries through his 16 appearances on the season.

Johnson failed to bring in his only target, returned two kickoffs for 39 yards and ran back two punts for no gain in the Buccaneers' 24-20 loss to the Saints on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson logged six snaps on offense and saw his first target since Week 10, although he was unable to bring it in successfully on what was a difficult day for the Buccaneers' air attack as a whole. Johnson also continued in his usual returner role, and with Mike Evans (IR, collarbone) and Jalen McMillan (IR, neck) seemingly about to return to action, that special-teams role is likely to represent his only opportunity to touch the ball down the stretch.

Johnson rushed once for 11 yards, failed to bring in his only target, returned two kickoffs for 48 yards and ran back two punts for 12 yards in the Buccaneers' 28-23 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was back to serving as the full-time returner after running back Sean Tucker vultured both of the kickoff-return opportunities in the Buccaneers' Week 8 win over the Saints before the bye. The second-year pro also logged his second career carry in addition to seeing his sixth target of the season, all which have come within the last four games with Tampa Bay's receiver corps working short-handed. Johnson remains exclusively an option for those playing in very deep formats that also count return yards and touchdowns.

Johnson didn't draw a target but returned one punt for eight yards in the Buccaneers' 23-3 win over the Saints on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson logged six snaps on offense but didn't garner Baker Mayfield's attention despite the Buccaneers' multiple absences at receiver. The second-year wideout's most reliable week-to-week role is as a returner, and even that took a hit Sunday when Sean Tucker handled both of Tampa Bay's kickoff returns.

Johnson failed to bring in his only target over 15 snaps but returned four kickoffs for 95 yards and ran back three punts for 34 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-9 loss to the Lions on Monday night.
EDGE Analysis
One week after Johnson posted a career-best 4-64-1 receiving line, the second-year wideout was back to being a non-factor on offense. Johnson did continue to offer solid production on returns, which included a season high on kickoff-return yardage. However, with Mike Evans (IR, collarbone/concussion) and Chris Godwin (fibula) guaranteed to be unavailable in Week 8 against the Saints, Johnson will at least have a chance to continue filling a reserve role on offense.

Johnson secured all four targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 30-19 win over the 49ers in Week 6. He also returned one kickoff for 31 yards and ran back one punt for six yards.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson put together a career-best line on a career-high 26 snaps (49 percent), as the early exit of Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) coupled with the absences of Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (fibula) opened up plenty of opportunity for the second-year wideout. Johnson topped off his performance with his first career TD, a 34-yard grab late in the first half. While Evans may have a chance to return for Monday night's Week 7 showdown against the Lions, Godwin and Egbuka could both miss the contest, meaning Johnson could well play an expanded role again.

Johnson returned two kickoffs for 42 yards and ran back six punts for 100 yards during the Buccaneers' 31-25 loss to the Eagles in Week 4.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson logged six snaps from scrimmage without a target, but he made a significant impact in his special-teams role. The second-year wideout has averaged a modest 21.0 yards per kickoff return, but he's now up to 15.9 yards per punt runback after an impressive 46-yard return early in the third quarter. Johnson would likely need multiple injuries at receiver to make an impact on offense, but he has the talent to develop into a consistent weapon on returns.

Johnson ran back two kickoffs for 42 yards and returned one punt for six yards during the Buccaneers' 20-19 win over the Texans on Monday night.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson did get in on seven snaps from scrimmage but wasn't targeted. Johnson notably added kickoff-return duty in Week 2 after exclusively fielding punts in Week 1, while No. 3 running back Sean Tucker, who'd handled all three kickoffs in the Week 1 win over the Falcons, was in on just one Monday night.

Johnson logged one snap on offense and didn't draw a target in the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday, but he returned one punt for 54 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson wasn't expected to have a role on offense, but his chunk play on special teams set the Buccaneers up at the Falcons' 32-yard line early in the third quarter. Tampa Bay would go on to score five plays later on a nine-yard touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield to Bucky Irving, making Johnson's impressive return an integral play in the narrow victory. Johnson will remain the Buccaneers' punt returner in a Week 2 road matchup against the Texans, and he could begin carving out some snaps on offense as the season unfolds.
