Maiava (hamstring) was waived off of injured reserve by the Raiders on Monday, CSN Bay Area reports. Maiva signed a three-year contract before last season, and then landed on IR in both 2013 and 2014. He started just three of his 13 games with the Raiders, compiling 32 tackles (18 solo) over parts of two seasons.

Maiava (hamstring) is headed for injured reserve, Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Maiava's hamstring injury, suffered during the team's Week 4 matchup against Miami, will deplete an already thin linebacking corps. The team has not yet named a replacement, but it is expected to announce the signing of a free agent linebacker shortly. Maiava will end the year having played in just 13 games in his first two seasons with the Raiders.

Maiava suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's game and is questionable to return. Maiava missed two weeks of practice during the preseason while nursing a hamstring issue, although it's unknown if his injury suffered Sunday is to the same hamstring as before. Nonetheless, his potential absence would further deplete an already injured riddled Raiders' linebacking corp, leaving the team with just three active players at the position.

Raiders OLB Kaluka Maiava has been charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal property damage in Maui, Hawaii. Maiava and his brother were part of a brawl on March 17, which was just four days after Maiava signed a three-year deal with the Raiders. Maiava is from Maui. By recent NFL player standards, the charges aren't exactly serious, but Maiava could still be facing league discipline. An effective player in 498 snaps for the Browns last season, Maiava is attempting to make the conversion to starter in Oakland. It might not go well.

Raiders signed OLB Kaluka Maiava, formerly of the Browns, to a three-year, $6 million contract. The Raiders are beginning the arduous task of remaking their decimated front seven. A 13-game starter for the Browns last season, Maiava finished with 53 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 7 4-3 outside linebacker, but played just 498 snaps. He should be in for a bigger role in rebuilding Oakland.

The Browns are not expected to re-sign free agent OLB Kaluka Maiava. Maiava, a 2009 fourth-round pick, started 13 games on the weak side in 2012 and recorded a career-high 53 tackles and two sacks. With the Browns transitioning to the 3-4, his services are no longer needed. The 26-year-old is a fine special teams player.

Kaluka Maiava will enter the season as the Browns' starting weak-side linebacker. Coordinator Dick Jauron insists Maiava has had a "terrific camp," but there's a reason he's been limited to special teams since being drafted in 2009. The Eagles fantasy players have a made-to-order Week 1 matchup with Maiava and UFDA L.J. Fort starting at two of the three lineback spots.
