Raiders G Justin Smiley has announced his retirement from football. A 49ers second-round pick in 2004, Smiley played for three teams during his seven-year career, making 78 starts. He started five games at left guard for the Jaguars last season before losing his job to Vince Manuwai. The Raiders were hoping he'd provide depth this season, but Smiley likely just has nothing left after chronic shoulder injuries in Miami and Jacksonville.

Raiders signed G Justin Smiley, formerly of the Jaguars. Smiley was dumped by the Jags after losing his starting gig a year ago. He'll give the Raiders even more depth on the interior of the line.
