Justin Blackmon set franchise rookie records for receptions (64), receiving yards (865) and average per reception (13.5) while tying Matt Jones for most receiving touchdowns (5) this season. After struggling mightily early in the season, Blackmon finally got on track once Chad Henne replaced Blaine Gabbert under center. He ended up 28th in fantasy points. Blackmon's final eight games of the season prorate to a 82/1,280/8 stat line over a full season.

Justin Blackmon caught seven passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 23-16, Week 16 loss to the Patriots. Blackmon saw a team-high 12 targets against a Patriots defense that was minus Alfonzo Dennard coming in, and then was eventually without Aqib Talib for much of the contest. His touchdown came from three yards out in the first quarter, but he was also over-shot on two other end zone targets on the day. With New England taking Cecil Shorts away, Blackmon and slot man Jordan Shipley were the beneficiaries. The 2-13 Jaguars will travel to Tennessee in Week 17. Blackmon caught five passes for 62 yards and a score against the Titans in Week 12.

Justin Blackmon caught six passes for 57 yards in Jacksonville's Week 14 loss to the Jets. Blackmon, while working mostly against Antonio Cromartie, caught just six of his 12 targets from Chad Henne. Blackmon received no help from his receiving partners in crime. Kevin Elliott got the start in place of Cecil Shorts (concussion) and had a day to forget. Henne was overly erratic as well. Jacksonville will trek down to Miami next week.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said Antonio Cromartie will cover Justin Blackmon "most of the time" Sunday. Coming off a 1/9/0 line against the Bills last week, Blackmon was already going to be a weak WR3 option. This should seal the deal. Cromartie has been among the league's top shadow corners this season, shutting down the likes of Larry Fitzgerald (1/23/0) and Brandon Lloyd (3/26/0) in the last two weeks. If Cecil Shorts (concussion) is able to suit up Sunday, he should be in for a boatload of targets.

Justin Blackmon was held to nine yards on one reception at Buffalo in Week 13. It was just the second time in the past six weeks that the rookie failed to score or top 50 yards. Blackmon was targeted six times, but dropped one pass at the 5-yard line and had another bounce of his out-stretched hands inside the red zone. Outside of Cecil Shorts, the entire Jags passing game struggled in a driving rain. Blackmon will be hard to trust as a WR3 option versus the Jets in Week 14.

Justin Blackmon (groin) returned to Jaguars practice Friday and is listed as probable for Week 13. He's good to go after Thursday's scare. With Chad Henne playing at a career-best level, Blackmon has graduated to WR3 value after a painfully slow first half of his rookie year. Chris Wesseling has him 32nd among wideouts in Week 13.

Justin Blackmon was held out of Thursday's practice with a groin injury. Blackmon and Cecil Shorts (hamstring) were full participants in Wednesday's practice. There's no word yet on the severity of the injuries. At this point, the status of both receivers is up in the air. Check back for an update.

Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey credits better practices with Justin Blackmon's increased production on game days. "The more he understands about what we're doing, he practices a lot faster," Mularkey said. In other words, the game is slowing down for Blackmon, who's racked up 12 catches for 298 yards over his past two games after entering Week 11 with a 26/250/1 line. Blackmon shouldn't come close to equalling his 7/236/1 Week 11 performance down the stretch, but has the looks of a legit WR3 under new QB Chad Henne.

Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey said the Jags' Week 11 gameplan didn't necessarily call for an emphasis on Justin Blackmon. Blackmon came out of nowhere to rack up 236 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets against the Texans Sunday. "It just happened that way [with the coverages]," Mularkey said. "It just unfolded that way. Justin made some great plays for us." Blackmon's breakout day is encouraging, but owners shouldn't overreact. The No. 5 overall pick came into Week 11 averaging 2.8 catches for 27.7 yards per game and had scored one touchdown.

Justin Blackmon caught seven passes for 236 yards and a touchdown in Jacksonville's 43-37, Week 11 overtime loss to the Texans. Blackmon entered the game game with 250 yards and a touchdown in nine games this season, but he completely busted out against Houston. The first-round pick saw a team-high 13 targets from Chad Henne. Henne replaced Blaine Gabbert after the opening drive when Gabbert hurt his throwing elbow. Blackmon had long gains of 63 yards and 81 yards. The 81-yard catch went for a touchdown after the receiver leaped up and hauled in a pass down the middle of the field in triple coverage. If the Jaguars play it smart, they'll keep Henne as the quarterback and attack the Titans' No. 27 pass defense in Week 12.
