Dolphins waive LB Josh Kaddu. The Miami Herald reported in April that the Dolphins had "high hopes" for the 2012 fifth-rounder, but they apparently soured, as Kaddu had yet to play a snap on defense. He could just be a victim of the numbers game along Miami's stout defensive line. It's possible he'll be stashed on the practice squad.

The Dolphins have "high hopes" for second-year LB Josh Kaddu as a pass-rush specialist. Kaddu played only 11 defensive snaps as a rookie, but the fifth-rounder out of Oregon was praised as a practice player by coach Joe Philbin. As a strong-side 'backer in college, Kaddu registered 9.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks as a senior. He'll compete for playing time with Olivier Vernon opposite Cam Wake.

Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin named fifth-round rookie LB Josh Kaddu as one player that excites him the most for 2013. An odd pick. Kaddu played just 11 defensive snaps for Miami in his rookie season and rarely saw the field. However, when he was selected out of Oregon with the No. 155 overall pick, draftniks noted his athleticism and sideline-to-sideline ability as an outside linebacker. All three of the Dolphins' starting linebackers are under contract for next season, though.

Dolphins promoted LB Josh Kaddu from their practice squad to the active roster. Kaddu was selected in the fifth round by the Dolphins this season. He's raw, but certainly has the physical tools at an athletic 6'3/249. Kaddu figures to focus on special teams if he dresses against the Rams Sunday.

Dolphins waived LB Josh Kaddu. A fifth-round pick, Kaddu looks the part at 6-foot-3, 239 pounds, but was extremely raw coming out of Oregon. The Dolphins will likely look to stash him on the practice squad.

Dolphins signed fifth-round LB Josh Kaddu to a four-year contract. Kaddu boasts excellent size, length, and athleticism, but he'll need to gain strength and improve his fundamentals before making a defensive impact. The Dolphins view him as an outside linebacker down the road. Kaddu will start his career as a special teamer.

The Dolphins plan to play fifth-round pick Josh Kaddu at outside linebacker. Kaddu was a "Sam," or strong-side linebacker at Oregon and figures to be a top backup there right away while contributing on special teams. "We think he's an outside linebacker," said GM Jeff Irleland. "I don't see him as Mike but I do see him as a Will or a Sam. Tremendous athlete. (The guy) is explosive."
