Though Jacobs didn't practice Thursday, he intends to play Sunday against the Texans, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. "It would have to be broke for me not to play," Jacobs noted of the sore shoulder that has led to back-to-back absences from practice.
EDGE Analysis
That the rookie running back plans to play is highly encouraging, but ideally he'll get at least some reps at Friday's practice. Ultimately, his Week 8 status is not his call, but it sounds like Jacobs believes that his shoulder issue is something he can manage and play through this weekend. He's still likely to end up being listed as questionable by the Raiders, in any case.

Jacobs (shoulder) wasn't spotted on the field for Thursday's practice, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs' availability for Sunday's game against the Texans is beginning to look dicey with the running back having now missed both of the Raiders' first two practices of the week. Coach Jon Gruden noted Wednesday that Jacobs is still feeling sore coming out of the Raiders' Week 7 loss to the Packers, so the running back will be extended another day of rest with the hope it helps resolve the issue. The Raiders will decide whether Jacobs will carry a designation into the Week 8 matchup at the conclusion of Friday's practice.

Coach Jon Gruden said that Jacobs is "still very sore" due to a shoulder injury he suffered Sunday against the Packers, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The running back didn't practice Wednesday, but given that he toughed it out after sustaining the injury this past Sunday, he has a shot to play this weekend against the Texans, provided he's able to return to practice Thursday or Friday. Next up for carries for the Raiders in the event that Jacobs is limited or out against Houston are DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard.

Jacobs wasn't spotted at the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs strained his shoulder during Sunday's loss to the Packers but he returned to action after receiving treatment and finished with 134 scrimmage yards. The fact that Jacobs was able to play through the issue bodes well for his chances of suiting up Week 8 against the Texans, but the Raiders may restrict his practice time as a safeguard. The Raiders will reveal whether Jacobs fit in any activity behind the scenes or if he remained out for the entire session when the team releases its initial injury report later Wednesday.

Jacobs ran for 124 yards on 21 carries and added 10 yards on three catches during Sunday's 42-24 loss to the Packers. He strained his shoulder during game, but returned and should not miss any time, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Those who have spent the last year or so under a rock might have tuned in to the game and wondered why Marshawn Lynch was wearing No. 28. The talented rookie did his best Lynch impression early in Sunday's game, weaving through and pummeling defenders on his way to a 42-yard gain, his second longest of the season. Jacobs' fans would doubtlessly like more than the two touchdowns he has scored in the past five games, but the Alabama product is about as consistent a threat you can ask for at running back with at least 99 total yards in five of six games. The Raiders' offense continues to run through him, but he'll be tested Sunday by a fairly stout Houston run defense.

Jacobs ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries and added 20 yards on three catches during Sunday's 24-21 win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs capped the comeback in the closing minutes of Sunday's contest, leaping over the Bears defense for a two-yard touchdown to put Oakland on top for good. His two touchdowns were his first since Week 1, but he's comfortably the most reliable Raider from a fantasy perspective, tallying at least 99 total yards in four of five games. He'll be counted on Week 7 against a Packers defense that is pesky against the pass, but has been exposed at times by good running backs.

Jacobs (elbow) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs was limited in the Raiders' first session of the week Wednesday due to an elbow issue, but there was never much concern about his availability for Sunday's game against the Bears in London. Jacobs' upgrade to full work in practice supports the notion that he'll suit up this weekend and once again lead the Oakland backfield.

Jacobs was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to an elbow injury.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of Jacobs' injury isn't fully known, but it's certainly a positive sign that he wasn't held out of practice entirely. Jacobs' participation level in practices Thursday and Friday will warrant close monitoring as Sunday's tilt against the Bears approaches. The rookie first-round pick has notched at least 99 total yards in three of the Raiders' four games this season.

Jacobs ran for 79 yards for 17 carries and added 29 yards on two catches during Sunday's 31-24 win over the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs continues to plug away, reaching 99 yards or more for the third time this season. Fans would surely love to see more touchdowns as Jabobs has been scoreless since Week 1 and he has not had a 20-touch game since the opener, but it's hard to ask for more from the rookie runner. He'll have his hands full in Week 5 against a dominant Bears defense.

Jacobs accounted for 44 yards on 10 carries and was unable to haul in either of his targets during Sunday's 34-14 loss to Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs has come back down to earth over the past two weeks after a historic NFL debut on Monday Night Football against the Broncos in Week 1. The Alabama product became the first player with 100 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in his first NFL game since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2001. In two games since, however, Jacobs has produced only 71.5 scrimmage yards per game with zero touchdowns. The rookie first-round draft choice aims to regain elite production in Week 4, taking on a Colts defense that let Atlanta running back Devonta Freeman establish a 5.5 yards per carry average Sunday.
