Jacobs rushed five times for 30 yards and brought in both targets for 14 yards during the Raiders' 27-11 preseason win over the Jaguars in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs was the biggest name on the Raiders offense to see action Thursday, and he made good use of his time on the field as his final line indicates. Playing on Las Vegas' first two drives, the 24-year-old rattled off gains of 12 and nine yards and also put together a strong showing through the air. Jacobs figures to see similar usage in at least two of the Raiders' remaining three preseason games as a tune-up for another season as the team's lead back.

Jacobs (undisclosed) participated in Thursday's training camp practice, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Raiders won't practice in pads until next week, but Jacobs' participation in Thursday's drills demonstrate that he's past the undisclosed issue that caused him to miss time during the team's OTAs. As the coming season approaches, the 2019 first-rounder heads a running back corps that also includes Kenyan Drake, Brandon Bolden and rookie fourth-rounder Zamir White. With the Raiders having declined Jacobs' fifth-year contract option, the 24-year-old approaches the coming campaign in a contract year with much to prove. If he can stay healthy, look for Jacobs to continue to handle a key early-down role for Las Vegas, with Drake mixing in and both Bolden and White also candidates to earn touches. Though Reed and Vic Tafur both suggest that White has the potential to start down the road, it remains to be seen how heavily he'll be used as a rookie. Regardless of how the Raiders' carries end up being distributed, however, the team's backfield will be working within the framework of an offense that's been fortified by the addition of elite wideout Davante Adams.

Jacobs was held out of practices at June minicamp due to an undisclosed injury, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
With no report of offseason surgery or a major injury, Jacobs seemingly has a good chance to be ready for the start of training camp in late July. He's entering the fourth and final season of his rookie contract after the Raiders declined to pick up his fifth-year option for $8.03 million. Between that and the presence of a new coaching staff, Jacobs won't automatically have the same role as in past seasons, though it helps his cause to have modest competition for early down snaps -- namely 28-year-old Kenyan Drake (coming back from a major ankle injury) and fourth-round rookie Zamir White. For passing situations, the Raiders have a few more options, with Jacobs and Drake joined by offseason signees Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden.

The Raiders have elected to not pick up Jacobs' fifth-year contract option, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The same applies to fellow 2019 first-rounders Clelin Ferrell and Johnathan Abram, though GM Dave Ziegler relayed that the team looks "forward to working with all three players and (will) evaluate each situation individually moving forward." With that, Jacobs remains under contract with Las Vegas this coming season, and it's still possible the Raiders will look to keep the 24-year-old around beyond 2022, especially if produces well in the final year of his rookie deal. In 15 games last year, Jacobs carried 217 times for 872 yards and nine TDs, while adding 54 catches (on 64 targets) for 348 yards. He's slated to reprise his lead role in the team's backfield this coming season, with Kenyan Drake set to work in a complementary role and Brandon Bolden and Ameer Abdullah on hand in reserve.

Jacobs ran for 83 yards on 13 carries and caught four passes for 44 yards on five targets against Cincinnati on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs could have had a bigger day if the Raiders had been more competitive, but they only scored one touchdown in the 26-19 loss and didn't have the luxury of leaning on their run game. Jacobs' pass-catching showing was reassuring and his production as a receiver generally in 2021 could give the Raiders reason to give him more pass-catching work in future years, though to this point in his career Jacobs has been dependent on run-viable game flows for standout fantasy production.

Jacobs (ribs) doesn't carry an injury designation for Saturday's playoff game against the Bengals after being listed as a limited practice participant this week, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The same applies to tight end Darren Waller (knee), which sets the stage for the Las Vegas offense to have its key playmakers available for the team's wild-card contest. In the Raiders' 35-32 overtime win over the Chargers in Week 18, Jacobs parlayed his 57 snaps into 26 carries for a season-high 132 yards and a touchdown to go along with two catches for 12 yards. He'll continue to handle the bulk of the team's carries this weekend, with Jalen Richard available to serve in a change-of-pace role and Peyton Barber on hand in reserve.

Jacobs (ribs) was listed as a limited participant for Wednesday's walk-through practice.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs played through the rib injury Week 18 and took 28 touches for 144 yards and a touchdown to help the Raiders earn a playoff spot with a 35-32 overtime iwn over the Chargers. In the Raiders' playoff opener this Saturday, he'll be taking on a Bengals team that held him to 61 total yards and no touchdowns back in Week 11 when the Raiders lost by 19 points. At the very least, Jacobs' workload shouldn't be a concern after he closed out the regular season by playing at least 61 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps and handling18 touches in four straight games.

Jacobs (ribs) was listed as limited on Tuesday's estimated injury report, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs emerged from Week 17 action with a rib injury, which spurred the Raiders to place a cap on his reps last Wednesday through Friday. He eventually was deemed active for Sunday's must-win game against the Chargers, and he went over and through them to the tune of 28 touches for 144 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD in a 35-32 overtime victory. The fact Jacobs is kicking off this week in a similar fashion implies Las Vegas is merely managing his health, but his status nonetheless bears watching ahead of Saturday's playoff opener at Cincinnati.

Jacobs (ribs) rushed 26 times for 132 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 12 more yards in Sunday's 35-32 overtime win over the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs suited up for this game despite carrying a questionable tag into the weekend, but the rib injury did not appear to hamper Las Vegas' top rushing option. The 28 touches tied the 23-year-old's previous season high, while the 132 rushing yards set a new highwater mark heading into the postseason. As for the regular season, Jacobs had a down year (872 rushing yards, 348 receiving yards and nine touchdowns over 15 games) and finished below 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his three seasons with the Raiders. Las Vegas has seen its offense experience major coaching and scheme changes throughout the year, but Jacobs figures to be heavily involved if the Raiders stand a chance to upset the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the playoffs.

Jacobs (ribs) is listed as active for Sunday night's game against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs carried a 'questionable' designation into the weekend, but he'll give it a go in Sunday's regular-season finale, which has major playoff implications for both teams. With that in mind, look for Jacobs to handle as much work as his rib issue permits versus Los Angeles, with Peyton Barber and Jalen Richard available to spell him and work in complementary roles out of the Raiders' Week 18 backfield. Jacobs has ripped off 21 touches for 95 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three rushing TDs over the last six contests.
