Free agent Josh Cribbs (meniscus surgery) passed his physical with the Cardinals, but the team wants to wait until he's "fully recovered" to make the deal official. Per Cribbs' agent, he's expected to be 100 percent in about five weeks. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians has plans to use Cribbs all over the field if/when he arrives in the desert, perhaps even at running back. "He's such a big, physical guy. ... I'd like to get my hands on him and find out about a couple things he can do as a receiver and a back." Barring a complication with his knee, Cribbs will soon be a Cardinal.

Sources tell ESPN Cleveland that free agent Josh Cribbs (knee) failed his physical with the Cardinals. Now we know what the holdup has been. The two sides reportedly had a tentative agreement in place last Wednesday, but Cribbs never signed on the dotted line. His agent has revealed that the return man had surgery to repair his meniscus after the season and still isn't completely healed. He believes that the Cardinals will give Cribbs another physical in a few weeks and if it's clean, a deal will finally go down.

Free agent Josh Cribbs is visiting the Cardinals on Sunday and they are giving him a physical. The fact that the visit has progressed to a physical could indicate that a contract agreement is imminent. Cribbs was reported late last week to have "tentatively" agreed to terms with Arizona. This could be the finishing touch.

The Cardinals have tentatively agreed to terms with free agent KR/WR Josh Cribbs. Cribbs chose Arizona over New England, and the deal is expected to be finalized in the morning. The Cardinals don't have a proven kickoff return man anymore now that La'Rod Stephens-Howling is a free agent, and Cribbs is still one of the best in the game. Arizona could also pull Patrick Peterson off punts, but that's less certain. As a receiver, Cribbs is no more than the No. 4.

Cardinals agreed to terms with KR/WR Josh Cribbs, formerly of the Browns. Cribbs was reportedly picking between the Cardinals and Patriots on Tuesday. He chose the team with a stud punt returner in Patrick Peterson and an already-set trio of starting receivers. Arizona could pull Peterson off of returns and let him focus on cornerback. Cribbs average 27.4 yard per return on kickoffs and 12.0 yards on punt returns in 2012.

Free agent Josh Cribbs has reportedly narrowed his choices to the Patriots and Cardinals. The 49ers appear to be out of the mix. The Patriots need a return ace to replace Julian Edelman and Josh Demps. The Cardinals could pull Patrick Peterson off returns if they signed Cribbs, allowing Peterson to focus on cornerback.

The Patriots are reportedly the favorites to sign free agent KR/WR Josh Cribbs. Cribbs won't be a realistic option to fill the Patriots' needs at wideout, but he could spark the return game. It's a sign they've moved on from track star Jeff Demps.

The Giants, Patriots, 49ers, Cardinals, and Cowboys have reportedly all shown interested in free agent Josh Cribbs. We wouldn't be surprised if any of the above teams signed Cribbs, but this information seems agent driven. Cribbs turns 30 soon, is limited to special teams, and doesn't contributed at wide receiver. He's hardly a hot free-agent item.
