EDGE Analysis
Hill had reportedly been having a strong camp which makes the injury designation sting that much worse. The Lions haven't publicly stated what Hill's dealing with, but we should know relatively sooner than later. With Hill out, Jeremiah Ledbetter and Ego Ferguson figure to climb up the depth chart.

Hill signed a contract with Washington on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The move comes after the team moved tight end Niles Paul (shoulder) to injured reserve Tuesday. The defensive lineman was released by the Seahawks a little less than a month ago after reaching an injury settlement with the team. The former third round pick from 2013 will expect to compete for reserve reps with Ziggy Hood and may even get an opportunity to start once he learns the playbook. Last season with the Seahawks, Hill recorded 24 tackles and one pass deflection in 10 games.

Hill was waived from the Seahawks' IR on Saturday, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill had been on IR since prior to the regular season and he's now eligible to be signed by any NFL team. He's a talented inside pass rusher when healthy, which has proven to be an issue to this point in his career. It's unclear if he's healthy enough to play this season, if so another team may look to give him a chance.
