Phillips signed a contract with the Saints on Tuesday, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips was waived by the Saints before the beginning of the regular season with an injury settlement but now returns, giving the Saints some much-needed depth at tight end. In order to make room for Phillips on the roster, linebacker A.J. Klein (groin) was placed on injured reserve. Look for Phillips to play a reserve role on offense behind the likes of Josh Hill, Michael Hoomanawanui and Garrett Griffin.

Phillips (undisclosed) reached an injury settlement with the Saints on Friday, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips missed the beginning of training camp after undergoing an appendectomy and then found himself on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury at the close of the preseason. The veteran tight end had five receptions for 32 yards in eight games with the Saints last season.

Phillips signed a contract with the Saints on Wednesday, Joel A. Erickson of The Advocate reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips, who's competing with Garrett Griffin and Clay Harbor for a potential No. 4 tight end job, has fully recovered from the appendectomy that prevented him from taking part in the first two weeks of training camp. However, it isn't clear if he'll be allowed to suit up for Thursday's preseason opener against the Browns.

Phillips was placed on the Non-Football Injury list due to appendicitis, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how long Phillips has been dealing with the illness. Appendicitis can take between one and four weeks to recover from, meaning Phillips should easily return during camp, though it's unclear how soon he'll be able to practice. Likely near the bottom of the tight end depth chart in New Orleans, Phillips will face long odds to make the team if he's unable to return soon.

Phillips will re-sign with the team for the 2017 season, Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips was claimed by the Saints in November of 2016 after being released by the Broncos. In eight appearances with the team he recorded five catches for 32 yards. He'll look to build on that performance as he continues in his role as a depth tight end in 2017.

Phillips was claimed off waivers by the Saints on Monday, Mike Triplett of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips was waived by the Broncos on Friday, but was not there long before being claimed by the Saints. Along with the Broncos, the veteran has played for the Cowboys and Chargers during his career. He will have a chance for revenge in his first game with the Saints, as they face the Broncos on Sunday. However, Phillips is not expected to do much more than add depth at tight end.

Phillips has been released by the Broncos, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips started the first three games of the season at tight end with Virgil Green and Jeff Heuerman recovering from injuries. However, those two are now healthy, and the Broncos acquired tight end A.J. Derby form the Patriots prior to Week 8. Phillips likely wouldn't have seen much playing time for the rest of the year even if he was kept on the active roster.

Phillips was not targeted in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
A week after getting involved in the action with a score, Phillips went catchless for the third time in four games this season. Of more concern, he played just one more offensive snap than youngster Jeff Heuerman, 29 to 28. Expect the veteran's role to continue to be reduced as Heuerman finds his footing and starter Virgil Green nears his return from a calf injury.

Phillips caught two of four passes for nine yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips got the start in place of the injured Virgil Green and responded with his first catches of the season. Whether he gets many more remains to be seen. Phillips didn't receive so much as a target while in reserve duty during Weeks 1 and 2 and Green shouldn't be out for much longer. The young Jeff Heuerman could also snatch away any targets that would otherwise go to Phillips as he flashed some big-play potential in his first career action on Sunday.

Phillips is likely to start at tight end in teammate Virgil Green's (calf) absence Sunday against the Bengals, Troy Renck of ABC 7 Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips played just 31 snaps over the Broncos' first two games, but should see more action Sunday with Green unavailable due to injury. While that lends itself to more opportunities for Phillips to make a fantasy impact, his 45 catches since entering the league in 2009 should certainly temper expectations, as should the expected season debut of rookie Jeff Heuerman.
