Phillips has been released by the Broncos, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.

Phillips started the first three games of the season at tight end with Virgil Green and Jeff Heuerman recovering from injuries. However, those two are now healthy, and the Broncos acquired tight end A.J. Derby form the Patriots prior to Week 8. Phillips likely wouldn't have seen much playing time for the rest of the year even if he was kept on the active roster.
