Brown failed to secure his only target in Thursday's 17-14 loss to the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Brown was elevated from the Broncos' practice squad ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Browns, but the veteran ended up playing on just six of the team's 50 offensive snaps. The wideout's only target in the contest was a shot into the end zone early in the second quarter, but quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's pass was intercepted. Brown was signed by Denver to provide depth at the wide receiver position, but he will likely struggle to see much playing time as Jerry Jeudy is set to make his return from an ankle injury in Week 8. Next up for Denver is a matchup with Washington on Oct. 31.

The Broncos elevated Brown from the practice squad ahead of Thursday's game against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
He'll be called up from the practice squad for the second week in a row to help restore depth in the Broncos' depleted receiving corps. Barring Jerry Jeudy's (ankle) surprise activation from injured reserve prior to Thursday's contest, Brown will likely find himself fourth in the pecking order at receiver behind Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and Kendall Hinton. Each of the three easily outpaced Brown in terms of playing time in last week's 34-24 loss to the Raiders, with the 31-year-old logging just five snaps in his Denver debut.

Brown reverted to the Broncos' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
EDGE Analysis
Brown was a gameday elevation for Sunday's loss to Baltimore and wasn't targeted on six offensive snaps. The 30-year-old joined Denver's practice squad less than a week ago, so he could see a few more opportunities if he's able to get more comfortable in the offense.

Brown was elevated to the active roster Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Vic Fangio essentially confirmed this designation was coming as early as Friday. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur also hinted Brown has a specific package of plays installed for him, which would seem to suggest the veteran pass catcher will be active ahead of Sunday's contest against his former team. The 31-year-old was arguably the most talented wide receiver still remaining without a roster, but with Jerry Jeudy (ankle) expected to return soon, it's hard to see Brown carving out a ton of playing time over the coming weeks.

Coach Vic Fangio said Friday that there'a a high likelihood Brown will be elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
In conjunction with Thursday's comments from offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur that the team was putting together a package of plays for Brown, it certainly appears that the veteran wide receiver will be ready to make his Denver debut come Sunday. The 31-year-old Brown spent the previous three seasons with the Bills and is just two years removed from a 2019 campaign in which he set career highs in catches (72) and receiving yards (1,060).

After signing to the Broncos' practice squad, Brown could possibly suit up for Denver in Week 6, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Stevens, Coach Vic Fangio noted Wednesday that the next three days will shed light on how quickly Brown could be moved up to the active roster, adding that the team would make a decision by the end of the week. Fangio's comments aren't surprising, as the team is in need of depth at the wide receiver position due to the injuries that have plagued their season thus far. Brown could carve out a solid role in the Denver offense as a speedy receiver on the outside. The 31-year-old enters an offense that will see Jerry Jeudy (ankle) make his return in the coming weeks. Fellow wideouts Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick have handled the majority of pass catching duties admirably for the Broncos, so Brown is no sure thing to see consistent usage in Denver's offense going forward. If the veteran receiver is signed to the active roster this week, he could make his debut against the Raiders in Week 6.

The Broncos signed Brown to their practice squad Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown worked out for the Broncos earlier in the day and evidently made enough of an impression in the workout for the team to sign him. The 31-year-old speedster wasn't able to crack the Raiders' 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but he could have a clearer path to a promotion in Denver while Jerry Jeudy (ankle) and KJ Hamler (knee) are on injured reserve. While with Buffalo in 2020, Brown hauled in 33 of 52 targets for 458 yards and three touchdowns across nine games.

Brown has been released by the Raiders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The report notes that the speedy wideout asked for his release from the team and with his request granted, Brown will now look to catch on with another team looking for pass-catching experience and depth.

Brown may be competing with undrafted rookie Dillon Stoner for a single roster spot, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown played in the Raiders' final preseason game, while Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards, Hunter Renfrow, Zay Jones and Willie Snead all were rested. The Raiders gave Brown more than $3 million in guaranteed money on a one-year contract, but it's a sunk cost at this point, and he'd arguably be clogging up a roster spot as a backup receiver who doesn't play special teams. Brown has been running with the backups for most of the summer, with the Raiders seemingly favoring Ruggs, Edwards and Renfrow as the Week 1 trio. They've carried a fullback and used multi-TE formations a good amount under Jon Gruden, with the fourth and fifth receivers often playing just a few snaps per game on offense.

Brown is listed as Henry Ruggs' backup on the Raiders' first unofficial depth chart of 2021.
EDGE Analysis
Brown is the veteran of a young position group, but it's Ruggs, Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow who are listed as starters, while the 31-year-old is placed on the second unit. Granted, depth charts are put together by PR departments, so this doesn't necessarily mean Brown won't be in the starting lineup Week 1 against Baltimore. He signed a one-year, $3.75 million contract this offseason, with nearly all of the money guaranteed.
