Coach Vic Fangio essentially confirmed this designation was coming as early as Friday. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur also hinted Brown has a specific package of plays installed for him, which would seem to suggest the veteran pass catcher will be active ahead of Sunday's contest against his former team. The 31-year-old was arguably the most talented wide receiver still remaining without a roster, but with Jerry Jeudy (ankle) expected to return soon, it's hard to see Brown carving out a ton of playing time over the coming weeks.
