Powers suffered a calf strain during Sunday's win in San Francisco, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Powers was in considerable pain after coming off the field Sunday, spurring head coach Bruce Arians to hope that the cornerback hadn't injured his Achilles. After an evaluation, though, Powers has been diagnosed with a strained calf and is considered day-to-day. Ultimately, his activity level in upcoming practices will forecast whether he'll suit up in Week 13 at St. Louis.

Powers is doubtful to return to Sunday's contest at San Francisco due to a calf injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Powers entered the contest with 40 tackles (35 solo), one interception, and one sack on the season. However, he tallied just two solo tackles before departing the game. While he's unlikely to return to the field Sunday, his progress will be watched closely this week to see if he'll play next Sunday in St. Louis.

Powers (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday at Cleveland, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
After emerging from Week 7 with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, it was believed that at least a moderate absence was in store for Powers. However, he'll gut out the ailment, as he keeps a hold of his starting gig opposite Patrick Peterson.

Powers (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Powers may actually be closer to doubtful, as he's dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring strain and wasn't able to practice this week. Justin Bethel (foot) will likely join the starting lineup alongside Patrick Peterson.

Powers didn't practice Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Powers logged the first of what will likely be many absences from practice, as he's expected to miss multiple weeks due to a Grade 2 hamstring strain. In his stead, Justin Bethel picked up 34 snaps Monday against the Ravens, tallying just two solo tackles and one fumble recovery, but his production should pick up working opposite Patrick Peterson. As for Powers, expect him to be ruled out well in advance of Sunday's game in Cleveland.

Powers (hamstring) suffered a Grade 2 strain and will likely be out for multiple weeks, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Powers, the relative weak link in an otherwise excellent secondary, will likely be replaced by Justin Bethel in the starting lineup. Powers is averaging five tackles per contest, but with 12 of those coming in one game, he hasn't been a reliable IDP. Bethel will surely be tested by opposing quarterbacks, so he could make for a decent option the next few weeks.

Powers accrued a team-high 12 tackles (10 solo) and one sack during Sunday's victory in Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Powers entered the game with just 15 tackles to his name, but the quarterback combination of Matthew Stafford and Dan Orlovsky attempted a whopping 70 passes, skewing the statistics for the benefit of those in the Cardinals' secondary. While Powers may be involved in additional blowouts as the season unfolds, no opponent will likely employ such a blatant one-sided attack, as the Lions rank 32nd in rushing by a large margin. Nonetheless, he's played all but five defensive snaps this season, so he's apt to be a frequent contributor to the box score in such a playmaking defense.

Powers accrued seven tackles (six solo) in Sunday's win versus the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
Relegated to slot corner last season with Antonio Cromartie in town, Powers returned to the IDP-healthy role opposite Patrick Peterson to begin the current campaign and fell one tackle shy of Tyrann Mathieu's team-high eight stops. Helping Powers' cause is a preponderance of work, as evidenced by receiving 73 of the Cardinals' 74 defensive snaps in Week 1, according to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix. Even though his tackle count will almost certainly diminish from the heights of Week 1, Powers has tallied at least one interception in each of his six years as a professional, including four in two complete seasons in the Arizona desert.

Powers (hamstring) racked up three solo tackles and two passes defended in his sole appearance of the preseason.
EDGE Analysis
After missing the first two exhibitions due to an oblique concern, Powers dealt with a hamstring injury in advance of the third preseason game on Aug. 30, yet he gutted out the issues to the tune of the aforementioned line. Working opposite Patrick Peterson this season, Powers should be showered with plenty of passes to defend, which could result in a career season. Acting as the Cardinals' slot corner the past two years, Powers tallied 118 tackles (108 solo), 28 passes defended, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one sack in 32 games.

Powers has been working with the first-team defense in OTAs opposite cornerback Patrick Peterson, the Cardinals' official site reports. Powers worked as the slot corner for the entirety of the 2014 season due to the presence of Antonio Cromartie in the secondary. However, Cromartie bolted to the Jets in free agency this offseason, leaving the No. 2 CB gig up in the air. While Powers may be better suited to operate in the slot due to his 5-foot-10, 187-pound frame, he'll aim to fend off Justin Bethel for the opening as training camp and the regular season approach. In two season in the Arizona desert, Powers has so far accumulated 118 tackles (108 solo), 28 passes defended, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one sack in 32 games.
