Clary underwent a second hip surgery about a week ago and could miss the entire season, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Clary has gone under the knife twice in the last three months to repair his hip and he also had a a procedure on his shoulder in February. Although the Physically Unable to Perform list contains a wide window in which a player can be activated and return to the field, it seems possible that Clary will not be able to play this year. With this being the last year of his current contract, Clary may have played his last game as a Charger. Johnnie Troutman worked at right guard this preseason and is expected to start in the veteran's place.

Injured Chargers RG Jeromey Clary (hip, PUP) has agreed to a $2.95 million pay cut.
Recovering from hip and shoulder operations, Clary has slashed his salary from $4.55 million to $1.6 million, likely saving his roster spot. Clary is shaping up as a candidate to spend the first six games of the season on reserve/PUP, leaving third-rounder Chris Watt in the driver's seat at right guard.

Chargers placed RG Jeromey Clary (hip) on the active/PUP list.
Clary underwent offseason hip and shoulder surgeries and was still on crutches last month. There have been rumblings he may not be ready for the opener and could open the season on reserve/PUP, which would keep him sidelined the first six weeks. Rookie Chris Watt will handle starter's reps in Clary's place.

Chargers RG Jeromey Clary (hip, shoulder surgeries) missed all of spring practices and was still on crutches as of mid to late June.
The U-T San Diego calls Clary a "player to watch" because his health is uncertain. The Chargers did draft Chris Watt in the third round, and he could threaten Clary's job even at 100 percent. With or without Clary, San Diego's offensive line should be plenty functional in 2014 after a rock-solid 2013 showing.

Chargers RG Jeromey Clary is recovering from offseason surgeries on his hip and shoulder.
It's unclear both when the operations took place, and whether Clary will be ready for training camp. Owed a $4.55 million base salary, Clary could be a late-camp release candidate if he doesn't recover on schedule. He continued to struggle as a blocker in 2013, and the Bolts drafted Chris Watt in the third round.

ESPN Chargers blogger Eric Williams considers RG Jeromey Clary a candidate for release.
The Bolts are currently projected to be about $2 million over the cap. Releasing 30-year-old Clary would clear $4.55 million. Clary kicked inside to guard after the team drafted RT D.J. Fluker in the first round last year. He started every game and graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 72 guard out of 81 qualifiers. San Diego has a number of veterans who could be cut, including Eddie Royal ($4.5 million), OLB Dwight Freeney ($3.5 million), and FB Le'Ron McClain ($2.5 million).

Chargers RG Jeromey Clary (clavicle) missed Friday's practice and is not expected to play in Week 4 against Dallas.
San Diego is going to be without three starting offensive linemen against a Dallas defense that ranks second in the NFL in sacks (13). LG Chad Rinehart (toe) and LT King Dunlap (concussion) will also miss the game. This is a scary matchup for Philip Rivers; fire up the Cowboys' fantasy defense.

Chargers OL Jeromey Clary worked with the starters at right guard on the first day of OTAs on Monday.
Clary has started 78 career games, all at right tackle. After the selection of RT D.J. Fluker with the No. 11 overall pick last month, Clary is trying to make the switch to the interior. The 29-year-old graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 14 right tackle last season, but his pass blocking was sub-par. The Chargers current offensive line looks like this: LT King Dunlap, LG Chad Rinehart, C Nick Hardwin, LG Clary, RT Fluker.

GM Tom Telesco confirmed that Jeromey Clary is open to playing guard.
Clarey started 14 games at right tackle last season, grading out 38th among 80 qualifiers according to Pro Football Focus. Thanks to the selection of Alabama's D.J. Fluker and the loss of Louis Vasquez in free agency, Clary will kick inside. He's a little oversized for the role at 6'6/320, but he accepts that he's not an option at left tackle.

The Chargers will evaluate RT Jeromey Clary at guard.
San Diego used the No. 10 overall pick on Alabama RT D.J. Fluker Thursday night. They could save $2.3M in cap space by dumping Clary, but are not expected to do that anytime soon. They have a hole at guard after losing Louis Vasquez in free agency.
