Bengals declared Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Gresham was added to the injury report on Friday after apparently tweaking his hammy in practice. It turns out to be more serious than originally thought, giving veteran Donald Lee the start. Other Bengals inactives: WR Ryan Whalen, G Clint Boling, LB Dontay Moch, LB Rey Maualuga, CB Morgan Trent and S Robert Sands.

Jermaine Gresham was added to the injury report Friday with a hamstring ailment, but is listed as probable for Week 8.
The Bengals seem to have more late-injury report additions than any team in the league. The probable tag suggests Gresham will start against the Seahawks.

Jermaine Gresham caught four passes for 23 yards in Sunday's win over the Colts.
The Bengals wisely picked on the Colts' small corners instead of pounding the ball to Gresham. The second-year tight end is now averaging just 4.88 yards per catch over the last two weeks as Andy Dalton uses him as a mere safety valve. We can do better for our TE1 as the Bengals head into their bye.

Jermaine Gresham caught four passes for 70 yards and a touchdown against the Bills in Week 4.
Gresham hauled in a spectacular 17-yard over-the-shoulder grab in traffic for a 17-yard touchdown. Now on pace for 64 receptions and 749 yards, Gresham makes for a high-end TE2 the rest of the way. He draws the Jaguars in Week 5.

Jermaine Gresham caught six passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' Week 1 win over the Browns.
Gresham played the entire game as an in-line tight end like we expected, but he ran plenty of pass routes over the middle. The 21st overall pick in last year's draft seemed to lack explosiveness as a rookie coming off a college season lost to a knee injury, but it's returned. Gresham is an intriguing fantasy prospect because the Bengals' quarterbacks are weak armed and the passing game short-based. He should be owned in all leagues.

Jermaine Gresham has been battling a nagging ankle injury.
Gresham did play in last Thursday's third preseason game, lining up mostly as an in-line tight end and catching a team-high four passes for 49 yards. Still, Gresham's lack of explosiveness and ugly quarterback situation caps his upside from a fantasy perspective. The Rotoworld Draft Guide projects just 502 yards and five touchdowns for the Bengals' 2010 first-round pick.

Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden would like to see TE Jermain Gresham work on inconsistencies with "blocking, route-running, and catching the ball."
"But he's shown the ability to be a dominant tight end in this league," added Gruden. "He's just got to show the ability to put it all together consistently." We'd feel a lot better about Gresham's chance for a breakout season if the Bengals didn't have instability at quarterback.
